Job Description

Expected compensation: 40.00 - 43.00 USD Per Hour

HireArt is helping an on-demand, autonomous ride-hailing company hire an engineering-focused Vehicle Technician to support the readiness of its fleet vehicles.

In this role, you will collaborate with internal teams, contribute to the optimization of fleet maintenance processes, and deliver a world-class service experience.

We're looking for candidates that possess extensive knowledge of fleet maintenance and experience in conducting high-quality repairs, supported by a minimum of 5 years of technician experience.

Available Shifts

First Shift - Sunday - Thursday, 6:30AM - 3PM

Second Shift - Tuesday - Saturday, 2:30PM - 11PM

As a Vehicle Technician, You'll

Perform high-quality repairs and inspections efficiently and accurately according to work instructions and document findings/results in a specialized service platform.

Conduct multi-point inspections and system checks, making appropriate recommendations to ensure the safety and reliability of fleet vehicles.

Inspect and test all work performed as a Quality Control (QC) measure to ensure compliance with safety standards.

Be willing/able to travel locally from time to time to configure, set up, maintain, diagnose, and sign off on vehicles for safe on-road usage.

Assist with parts/tools inventory, location, and organization, ensuring that technician tools and shop facilities are in excellent working condition.

Perform diagnostics and elevate to the appropriate engineering team, if required.

Assist with paperwork and documentation by maintaining service records and documenting quality field reports.

Requirements

2-4 years of technician experience

Extensive knowledge of methods, techniques, parts, tools, and materials used in the maintenance and repair of vehicles/automotive systems

Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license and clean driving record

Must pass a background check, MVR (Motor Vehicle Record) check, and drug screen

Must comply with the Substance Abuse policy

Ability to multitask and manage multiple projects and deliverables

Reliable self-starter with a "roll up the sleeves" work ethic

An outstanding communicator with excellent written and verbal skills

Must be honest and responsible with a team player spirit

Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and sit/stand for extended periods (8+ hours) depending on the equipment type

Ability to obtain and successfully pass company-provided forklift and/or gantry operator certification after hire, in compliance with Cal/OSHA standards

This role will require safety boots that conform to ASTM F2412 / F2413 requirements.

Preferred Qualifications

Technical trade school certificate or Associate Degree in automotive repair

ASE certification and/or manufacturer certification

Experience troubleshooting Linux-based systems and embedded modules, including self-driving systems and sensor stacks

Diagnostic troubleshooting experience with OEM systems, including high-level experience working with:

HV systems and hybrid drivetrains

CAN/LIN

HVAC, cooling, chassis, and suspension

Knowledgeable regarding optimization of fleet maintenance and OEM maintenance items

Ability to travel locally and nationally (on occasion)

This is a full-time, ongoing contract position staffed via HireArt. It will be onsite and available to candidates who are local to the Austin, TX area.
