Summary Description
Works for the language and culture department, in this case the Russian studies program, to assist in language teaching through instruction, and/or tutoring (speaking native language with language house participants and Russian students). Under Residential Life oversight coordinates cultural programming in the language Houses and assists Residential Advisor.

Pay Information
$900 for each adjunct course taught for a maximum of $2,700 per semester (subject to U.S. taxes) payable at the end of each block.
a salary of $6,460 for the academic year (subject to U.S. taxes) for your work coordinating cultural activities on campus, payable twice a month. You have the option of earning additional remuneration through additional language tutoring and grading (subject to U.S. taxes).
Private room with bath, micro-fridge, voice mail, and furniture
$1700 per semester for food ($3400 for the academic year), paid at the beginning of each semester (subject to U.S. taxes).
Up to 2 courses per semester (audit or take for credit) for free
Reimbursement up to $1800 for least-cost round-trip economy flight to Colorado Springs.; please keep a copy of your receipt for reimbursement (subject to U.S. taxes).
With the Faculty Advisor’s oversight, undertakes the following: Teach Maintenance Skill Russian Language classes at the beginning, intermediate and advanced levels (6 hours/week).
Reside in the Russian House CPC’s apartment.
Hold regular office hours (3 hours/week).
Maintain the CC Russian web page.
Organize extracurricular activities, create posters and announcement for Russian events (i.e. weekly Russian teas, Russian dinners, and maintaining an active cultural life at the Russian House).
With the Residential Life Coordinator’s oversight, undertakes the following: Conduct Residential Life training sessions at the beginning of each semester, and sessions during the semester as needed.
Maintain appropriate documentation and records for the Cultural Coordinator position.
Organize cultural programs for house residents and the campus community, continually integrating cultural experiences into the residential community.
Collaborate with the faculty and Residential Life Coordinator to create programs to prepare students for experiences abroad and reconnect students returning from abroad.
Actively recruit and select house members, working under the direction of faculty and the Residential Life Coordinator
Meet blockly with the Residential Life Coordinator and faculty advisor/mentor.
Coordinate the storage and maintenance of items provided to the house by the Residential Life Office
Is a visible presence in the house and on campus and serves as a role model to house residents, abiding by all college and Residential Life policies.
Contact student staff (Resident Advisors) when policy violations are encountered in the house, keeping the Resident Advisors and/or Residential Life Coordinator informed about any concerns regarding the house or its members.

Required Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in Russian Studies plus a certificate verifying the applicant’s academic degree in the field of teaching Russian as a Foreign Language.
