Data Architect Responsibilities:
Design and develop data architecture solutions utilizing Microsoft Azure services, including Azure Data Factory, Azure Data Lake, Azure SQL Database, Azure Synapse Analytics, Azure Databricks and Azure Analysis Services
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather and analyze data requirements, ensuring alignment with business goals and objectives
Define data integration and migration strategies, including data ingestion, data transformation and data synchronization processes
Design and implement data models, data workflows and data pipelines to support business intelligence, data analytics and reporting needs
Drive data governance and data quality initiatives to ensure the accuracy, consistency and integrity of data across multiple systems and platforms
Identify and resolve performance bottlenecks, data availability and scalability issues, proactively optimizing data infrastructure to meet evolving business requirements
Stay up to date with industry trends and best practices in data architecture, cloud computing, and data management, evaluating and recommending new technologies and tools
Provide technical leadership and guidance to development teams, ensuring adherence to data architecture standards and best practices
Collaborate with infrastructure teams to optimize resource utilization, implement backup and disaster recovery strategies and ensure high availability of data platforms
Provide support in troubleshooting and resolving data-related issues, conducting root cause analysis, and implementing corrective measures
Data Architect Requirements: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or a related field; advanced degree preferred
Proven experience working as a Data Architect, Data Engineer or similar role
Strong expertise in Microsoft Azure services, particularly Azure Data Factory, Azure Data Lake, Azure SQL Database, Azure Synapse Analytics, Azure Databricks and Azure Analysis Services
Experience designing and implementing data architecture solutions for large-scale data infrastructures, including data lakes, data warehouses and data marts
Proficient in writing SQL queries and data manipulation languages
Solid understanding of data modeling concepts, data governance and data quality principles
Familiarity with data integration patterns and ETL/ELT processes
Experience with data visualization and reporting tools, such as Power BI or similar
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate complex business requirements into practical data architecture solutions
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders
