Assistant Project Manager Job Description

An Assistant Project Manager works alongside the Project Manager to plan and execute projects for the company. Their duties include identifying clients’ or stakeholders’ project needs and goals, creating a detailed plan to successfully complete a project and organizing and storing project reports and documents.

Looking for a positive “can do” attitude, a strong drive to achieve results as well as a strong work ethic.

Job Duties/Responsibilities

The Assistant Project Manager may work alone or with a team and will undertake the following duties and more as instructed by the Project Manager:

Research information to support other teams and departments as needed.

Perform administrative tasks such as preparing invoices, estimates, scheduling meetings, etc.

Complete any tasks assigned by the Project Manager in an efficient and timely manner.

Work directly with Project Managers to help implement project goals.

Oversee various aspects of projects and provide direct assistance to provide timely project execution.

Liaise with project lead and other project managers to maintain project schedule and efficacy

Assist with procuring materials and other items necessary for completing project goals.

Review project implementation and gather data on project execution.

Coordinate with project managers and other project leads following project execution.

Promote Customer Relations

Builds effective relationships with customers, design team, subcontractors, suppliers, and user groups that reflect and support company core values and meets or exceeds the customer’s expectations.

Participates in industry, client, and community relations to enhance company image when required.

Culture, Leadership and Employee Development

Promotes our culture and communicates our vision and purpose through our Core Values.

Serves as a role model, leader and promotes professional behavior, personally and professionally.

Participates in and support operations training programs and commits to the development of project staff and self.

Demonstrates proficiency using a personal computer and company communication tools such as email, Microsoft Office, Procore, Bluebeam.

Demonstrates solid presentation skills and verbal/written skills.

Self-starter able to work within a fast-paced environment.

Excellent time management skills with ability to work independently and meet deadlines.

Proficient in the use of personal computers including iPad/tablet device.

Proficiency in data entry, project management software (Procore), Microsoft Office, Excel.

Basic knowledge of uploading and managing web-based document storage

Willing to learn recent technologies with provided training.
