IT Technical Project Manager

Suntex Marinas is a high- company investing exclusively in niche mixed-use marinas and their related operating platforms. We have acquired, developed, and operated over 70 full-service marinas which include retail spaces, office buildings, resorts, hotels, and restaurants.

We are seeking an experienced IT Technical Project Manager to play a pivotal role in overseeing the acquisition of new technologies and managing technical installation projects. Specifically, by leading projects to enhance our IT infrastructure and the IT portion of new marina acquisitions. This role requires a blend of project management skills, technical acumen, and the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure successful project delivery.

This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the growth and improvement of our IT infrastructure and technology landscape. Your ability to effectively plan and manage project scope, timelines, budgets, and resources will be instrumental in delivering high-quality IT solutions that deliver results. You will effectively coordinate with technical teams and vendors to ensure successful project implementation. Your proficiency in negotiating contracts and managing remote vendors as they navigate through technical complexities will be instrumental in project success.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Technical Expertise:

o Strong understanding of IT networking, camera, VOIP, and POS systems, technologies, and processes.

Project Management:

o Lead the effort between IT and stakeholders to define technical requirements, budgets, and implementation plan for new network and phone systems for newly acquired properties and current property infrastructure enhancements.

o Develop project plans, outlining tasks, timelines, and resource requirements.

o Lead and manage project teams, ensuring effective coordination and communication.

o Monitor project progress, track milestones & budget, and manage changes to ensure successful project delivery.

Budget Management:

o Develop, manage, and forecast project budgets, ensuring optimal resource allocation.

o Manage project resources, including personnel, budget, and equipment.

Risk Management:

o Proactively identify risks and issues; develop mitigation strategies to ensure project success.

Continuous Improvement:

o Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement best practices.

o Contribute to the development and enhancement of project management methodologies and tools.

• Perform other duties, as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS, KNOWLEDGE, AND SKILLS:

• Bachelor's degree in information technology, computer science, or a related field.

• Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is a plus.

• 5+ years of proven experience as an IT Technical project manager, specifically in location/site-based acquisitions and technical installations.

• Strong computer/systems background with working knowledge of standard IT ecosystem technologies (Hardware & Software).

• Experience scheduling and coordinating regional low voltage, fiber, and physical network vendors to install cabling, network components, poles, satellite dishes, and other infrastructure.

• Experience in marina management or hospitality industries a plus.

• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple small to medium sized projects simultaneously and successfully deliver them on time and within budget.

• Ability to lead and motivate cross-functional teams.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

• Experience in budget management and resource allocation in IT projects.

• Strong organizational and time management skills.

• Ability to learn quickly.

• Ability to adjust to changing priorities while maintaining a positive, can-do attitude.

• Ability to work calmly under pressure and deal with ambiguity.

WORKING CONDITIONS/PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

• This is a hybrid position, with minimum 3-4 days a week at the home office (Dallas).

• Must be able to travel on occasion.

• Working conditions vary from sitting, sedentary desk work to most of the workday on your feet, if on-site and traveling.

• Must be able to lift 15 lbs.
