We are looking for a Staff Full-Stack Software Engineer to join our growing team and help shape the future of our web development effort. This role will allow the team to deliver on key user acquisition projects and ultimately contribute to Greenlight’s user base growth.

This engineer will work on a Scrum team with two-week sprints. The team is primarily focused on enhancing our website and web-based registration flows but also has the opportunity to make contributions to our backend services.

The ideal candidate has a deep understanding of web technologies, strong leadership skills, and the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality solutions. Technologies we use: Frontend: React, typescript, React Native, Next.js, HTML, CSS

Backend: Kotlin, nest.js REST, Microservices, Microfrontend

AWS cloud

MySQL, DynamoDB

Your day-to-day: Building new and enhancing existing experiences and features for our website and registration flows

Optimizing our registration process through full-stack experiments and features

Contributing to the development and implementation of our growth engine and experimentation platform

Scaling and enhancing our backend services to evolve with new feature requests and support our growing user base

Improving the reliability and availability of the platform which supports our families and partners

Stay up-to-date with the latest web development trends and technologies, and advocate for their adoption when appropriate.

What you’ll bring to the team: BS degree in Computer Science or equivalent work experience

8+ years experience leading web development with a track record of successfully leading web development projects.

Expertise in web development technologies such as HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and modern JavaScript frameworks (e.g., React, Angular, Vue.js).

Strong proficiency in back-end technologies and web services (e.g., Node.js, Kotlin, Python, RESTful APIs).

Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) and containerization (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).

Deep understanding of web security best practices and principles.

Exceptional communication and leadership skills.

Our stance on salaries: Greenlight provides a competitive compensation package with a market-based approach to pay and will vary depending on your location, experience and skill set. The total compensation package for this position will also include a discretionary performance bonus, equity rewards, medical benefits, 401K match, and more. Greenlight conducts continuous compensation evaluations across departments and geographies to ensure we are keeping our pay current and competitive.

The estimated base pay range for this position in (NY, CA, WA): $165,000-230,000 The estimated base pay range for this position in (CO): $165,000-220,000
