+ Teaching Associate
+ Full-time, 12-month (July 1-June 30) academic position on a yearly appointment and may be reappointed to subsequent annual terms
+ Be a member of the Cardiothoracic Surgery multidisciplinary team that includes physicians, fellows, residents, and RNs providing acute care services to patients and families
+ Successful candidate will be responsible for providing independent and collaborative patient management of cardiac surgical patients following transfer from the intensive care unit through discharge to the outpatient setting **PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES**
+ Work on a dedicated cardiothoracic inter-professional team with other established APPs, Cardiothoracic surgeons, and Mechanical Circulatory support providers
+ Perform minor bedside procedures and wound management as needed
+ Provide a full spectrum of care for cardiac acute care surgical patients
+ Participate in the education of nursing staff and surgical residents
+ Participate in quality improvement projects and process improvement activities for the Division of Cardiothoracic Surgery **Minimum Qualifications:**
+ Current and valid state Registered Nurse Licensure for ARNP or Physician Assistant licensure for PA-C
+ Graduate Degree from and accredited Nurse Practitioner Program or accredited Physician Assistant Program
+ Nationally certified ARNP/PA with DEA
+ Proven excellence working in an interdisciplinary collaborative team environment
+ Effective interpersonal skills, leadership skills, and clinical expertise in the care of patients undergoing Cardiothoracic Surgical procedures.
+ ACLS Certification
+ Able to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing
