The Role and the Team

We’re seeking a highly motivated and seasoned Sr. Manager, FP&A to support our Worldwide R&D organization and lead our Finance R&D team. In this highly visible role, the ideal candidate will have a strong background in financial planning and analysis, with specific expertise in supporting R&D functions within a technology-driven organization. This role offers an exciting opportunity to support executive staff by driving strategic decision-making and financial performance within our innovative and rapidly growing company. This candidate will work directly with business leadership to facilitate core planning – monthly, quarterly, and annual outlook. Will also be responsible for maintaining product level contribution margins. Other responsibilities include providing variance analysis of expenses, headcount, and maintain our financial model to accurately reflect future performance. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a dynamic and groundbreaking finance organization.

Your day to day

• Lead financial planning and analysis activities for the R&D organization, including budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis.

• Collaborate with R&D leaders to develop and track key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the financial health and progress of projects and initiatives.

• Provide insightful financial analysis and recommendations to support strategic decision-making within the R&D organization.

• Partner with cross-functional teams, including Engineering, Product Management, and Operations, to align financial goals with business objectives.

• Drive process improvements and efficiencies within the FP&A function to enhance accuracy and timeliness of financial reporting.

• Prepare presentations and reports for senior management and stakeholders, communicating financial results, insights, and recommendations effectively.

What you bring to the team

Proven experience as a Finance Partner supporting R&D, working collaboratively with functional leaders to support the achievement of their operational and functional goals experience.

Experience working directly in an FP&A environment modeling headcount and expenses.

Experience with a financial planning tool, ERP and CRM required. Experience with Adaptive Planning, Salesforce.com a plus.

Sound understanding of accounting theory and practice (e.g. basic revenue recognition rules, company capitalization policies and proper expense timing)

Solid understanding of SaaS business models and subscription-based revenue streams

Rock Star mastery of Word, Excel and PowerPoint

Excellent communication skills with all levels of an organization

Ability to develop and maintain complex financial models

Ability to question the output of a financial model and consider options for improvement

Capability at effectively managing time, prioritizing tasks and working within deadlines

Team player with strong organizational and interpersonal skills

Proven track of leading a small team with fostering development of direct reports

Education that serves as a foundation for your experience in Finance, such as a BA/BS degree in finance or accounting with 7+ years of financial analysis experience
