The Project Superintendent provides supervision and management for work performed on systems ranging in difficulty from small basic commercial installations to large complex projects involving multiple plumbing systems. He/she also assists in administrating the company safety program and maintaining a safe and healthy work environment.
Job Description
This full-time position is responsible for supervising work performed on systems ranging in difficulty from small basic commercial.
Establish project objectives, policies, procedures and performance standards within boundaries of corporate policy.
Initiate and maintain liaison with prime client and A/E contacts, to facilitate construction activities.
Manage/Direct/Lead project field manpower to ensure project is built on schedule and within budget; investigate potentially serious situations and implement corrective measures.
Represent company in project meetings, assist in strategy meetings, etc.
Manage quality of product/systems installed
Manage/Schedule manpower to maintain/improve labor budget
Work in conjunction with project manager
Assume additional responsibilities as directed by corporate executives.
Requirements
Minimum 10 years of verifiable experience in the plumbing/piping/sheet metal trades and a minimum of 5 years of verifiable supervisory experience
Thorough knowledge of plumbing blueprints, specifications and codes
Thorough knowledge of other major craft blueprints
Thorough knowledge of all plumbing systems including installation means/methods from domestic water to medical gas
Thorough knowledge of piping systems including installation means/methods
Thorough knowledge of ductwork systems including installation means/methods
Excellent communication skills and the ability to successfully interact with employees and clients on a professional level
The ability to supervise multiple foremen
The ability to schedule projects and meet deadlines
