We are looking for a highly skilled and motivated individual to fill the position of Technology Development Engineer in Houston, Texas. This position will support the fundamental development of a wide variety of technology concepts and projects that are a focus of Low Carbon Ventures and its partners.

The Technology Development Engineer will be responsible for scaling-up laboratory processes to pilot and commercial scales by developing and implementing kinetic models for process transition and optimization. Roles and Responsibilities:

Lead the scale-up of laboratory processes to pilot and commercial scales.

Develop and implement kinetic models for chemical reactions, including reaction mechanisms, rate constants, and reaction pathways.

Utilize computational tools and software to simulate and optimize chemical processes.

Design and execute experiments to validate kinetic models and optimize process parameters.

Identify critical process variables and develop strategies for process control.

Work closely with experimental groups to translate new product concepts into scalable processes.

Apply expertise in various reactor types, including fixed-bed, plug-flow, and fluidized-bed reactors to address challenges related to process scalability, safety, and efficiency.

Optimize reactor design and operation parameters for efficient and safe production.

Ensure compliance with safety protocols and industry regulations during scale-up activities.

Conduct risk assessments and implement safety measures.

Collaborate with engineers, chemists, and production teams to troubleshoot process issues and to ensure seamless process transitions.

Provide technical support during pilot and commercial production phases.

Qualifications

Qualifications

Education:

PhD in Chemical Engineering or related field.

Ability to work in the United States a must.

Experience:

Minimum 5 years of experience in process development and scale-up with a proven track record of successfully transitioning processes from the laboratory scale to pilot and commercial production.

Proficiency in kinetic modeling using software tools (e.g., Aspen Plus, COMSOL, MATLAB).

Experience in new technology development, applying data to contemplate new theories and approaches, and using innovation to drive to commercial success.

Skills and Competencies:

Strong understanding of chemical reaction kinetics and thermodynamics.

Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work in a team environment.

Effective communication and project management skills.

Possesses a collaborative nature and actively participates in teams; actively seeks continuous improvement by identifying and implementing best practices and procedures.
