We are currently looking for aBattery Cell Engineerto join our team based in Austin, TX. The ideal candidate will have experience in rechargeable battery cell fabrication and testing and will possess a strong background in the chemistry and physics of battery operation. The chosen candidate will be responsible for material synthesis, electrode fabrication, and full battery assembly as well as running standard battery performance experiments. They will collaborate with other trained scientists on the EnergyX battery team. As a startup company constantly expanding our horizons, we reward innovation and value team members who can contribute novel ideas.
Responsibilities
Assist in the development and scaleup of novel solid polymer and composite electrolytes for all-solid-state lithium battery applications.
Fabricate components of, and assemble full rechargeable lithium battery cells.
Test, improve and optimize battery characteristics, performance, and stability.
Due to the specialized nature of this role, it will require being on-call for periods of time.
Required Qualifications
Science or Engineering degree from an accredited college or university. Fields of study –Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Material Science, and Engineering or Mechanical Engineering.
Knowledge of rechargeable lithium battery materials and full cell fabrication.
Understanding of current commercial targets for rechargeable battery performance.
Must be willing and able to relocate to Austin, Texas.
Desired Qualities
Battery research experience.
Motivated and hard-working, desire to innovate.
