Berkeley, CA, United States
Profluent is currently seeking a creative, passionate, and detail-oriented individual to join our Platform Discovery team. The candidate will help develop and execute our high-throughput screening platforms aimed at building high quality gene editing data sets for our AI-based protein engineering models. This individual will be critical in Profluent’s quest to develop powerful and novel gene editing technology to address major unmet needs in therapeutics and beyond.
This is an excellent opportunity to shape the future of AI-driven protein design, and to work cross-functionally with a diverse team of experts across machine learning, protein engineering, cell biology, and gene editing.
Responsibilities
Design and execute high throughput molecular cloning strategies
Contribute to the ideation, development, automation, and execution of robust platforms for the discovery and characterization of novel gene editing tools
Develop and validate assays to measure on- and off-target activity of novel gene editing systems using a combination of targeted and genome-wide analytical methods
NGS library preparation, purification, quantitation, and final quality evaluation
Analyze data, interpret results, present findings to team members
Qualifications
BS or MS in molecular biology, genome sciences, biochemistry, or a related field
0-5 years of academic or biotechnology industry research experience
