The Corporate Accounting Department at Oaktree is seeking an Accounting Manager with a focus on corporate investment fund accounting, transactional accounting, and operations.
Responsibilities
Responsible for maintaining books and records of the Company’s management company and general partner entities;
Manage the offshore team and review daily accounting activities to ensure the timely and accuracy of accounting records;
Prepare analysis and review legal documents of new entities and funds assessed for consolidation;
Prepare journal entries and perform analysis on corporate investment, equity method investment, and incentive income and related compensation accounting;
Perform accounting research and consult with management and external auditors to ensure proper accounting treatment is applied and documented for non-routine transactions;
Act as a liaison between Accounting, Tax, and Finance department to provide Fund Accounting and financial analyses support;
Maintain relationships with parent company accounting department, handling financial statement and operational inquiries and ad-hoc requests;
Provide support for the preparation of the Company’s 10Q/10K SEC filings including performing analyses, reviewing disclosures and providing feedback on suggested edits;
Participate in special projects and initiatives as required, documenting operating process, accounting considerations and conclusions;
Assist in development and maintenance of consistent accounting policies;
Assist in reviewing existing processes for automation and improvement opportunities;
Maintain a strong internal control environment and compliance with regulatory literature.
Qualifications
Minimum 3-5 years’ experience in accounting, preferably 3 or more years public accounting;
Strong knowledge of US GAAP accounting, operations, account analysis, and management reporting;
Asset manager industry experience is a plus;
Excellent understanding of business operations and linkage to accounting in order to initiate and lead process improvements and documentation of standard operating procedures;
Solid analytical skills and ability to understand and resolve complex problems;
Specific experience with SAP - BPC and Workday systems a plus; and,
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Power Point.

Education
A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related field (and/or equivalent experience). CPA preferred
Base Salary Range
$115,000 - $140,000
In addition to a competitive base salary, you will be eligible to receive discretionary bonus incentives, a comprehensive benefits package and a flexible work arrangement. The base salary offered will be commensurate with experience and/or qualifications, industry knowledge and expertise, as well as prior training and education.
