Habitat for Humanity Greater Boston (Habitat Greater Boston) was incorporated as a Massachusetts non-profit in 1987. Since then, it has built more than 120 homes in the neighborhoods of Dorchester, Roxbury, Roslindale, South Boston, and suburban communities in Greater Boston, providing housing solutions to individuals with low-to-moderate incomes. Habitat Greater Boston’s geographic service area encompasses the City of Boston and its 25 surrounding municipalities. Habitat Greater Boston is an independent affiliate of Habitat for Humanity International.
Position Summary:
Habitat Greater Boston seeks an experienced and dynamic development professional to serve on the leadership team in this critical role. Under the guidance of the CEO, the Director of Development will spearhead fundraising initiatives, aligning with the organization's strategic blueprint and ambitious development targets aimed at substantial revenue expansion.
Primary Responsibilities Include:
Fundraising- Develop and manage a comprehensive development plan to achieve annual fundraising objectives that support the organization’s strategic plan, ensuring steady growth and sustainability of the organization.
External Relations- Foster Habitat Greater Boston’s external relations by continuously building partnerships with community organizations, institutions, corporations, government agencies, and other stakeholders.
Leadership- Strategize and guide Habitat Greater Boston as the leader and expert on all development efforts.
Database Optimization and Automation- Lead departmental efforts to identify areas of opportunity for increased use of automation or enhanced system processing.
Management- Oversee and mentor a team comprising four full-time professionals.
Job Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree in a related field or equivalent work experience.
5+ years of fundraising experience, with a proven track record of success in securing gifts and building donor relationships.
Demonstrate servant leadership, embody the Habitat for Humanity mission, and exemplify a collaborative, decisive, motivating, and engaging communication style.
Certified Fund-Raising Executive (CFRE) Certification is preferred but not required.
Prior nonprofit experience is preferred.
