**Description**
**JOB DUTIES AND ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:**
* Maintain an understanding of the metal building industry, relative products, competitors, new developments and pricing structures.
* Develop and implement strategic sales plans to meet and exceed goals in the following areas: Sales, Gross Margin Pounds, Gross Margin Dollars, Pounds Shipped, Return Material Authorization percentages.
* Acts as CSMIs primary liaison with assigned customers in order to satisfy those customers needs, exercising discretion and independent judgment in the process
* Communicates with customers; understands customers needs; effectively prioritizes use of company resources and handling customer relations and services.
* Consider the market conditions of their territory, customer needs, company objectives and their territory goals in their daily decision making and apply sound judgment in their relative decision making
* Utilize independent authority to change or accommodate the following as appropriate to accommodate customer and business needs: Customer Pricing, Freight Charges, Product Packaging Requirements, Special Delivery Requirements.
* Determine and implement solutions for errors made relative to materials produced, delivery, product or service charges, credits or customer communications.
* Work autonomously with customers to address special requests, deliveries, needs.
* Ongoing market analysis of the competition, their offerings and market penetration.
* Develop and maintain ongoing record of customer and market requirements for territory
* Participate in Inventory, Credit and Accounts Receivable processes as needed.
* Provide guidance and direction for other departments in CSMI relative to the needs of assigned territory.
* Ongoing phone outreach to customers and consistent oversight to all their transactions.
* Provide input towards sales budgets, business plans, and strategies for business growth.
* May be expected to cold-call and prospect for new business to further develop market penetration.
* Other duties as assigned.
**Requirements**
**MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:**
* Bachelor degree in relative field preferred or equivalent work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience
* Proficiency with Microsoft Office products
* Sufficient organizational and planning skills
* Ability to learn and practice the cold call
* Some travel required
* Self-starter with leadership skills and willingness to take ownership and be a team player
* Must possess CSMIs core values
