What does this mean for someone joining as a Senior Accountant???
The Senior Accountant will get in on the relative ground floor of a developing Accounting/Finance team that supports both the Management Company & the Fund Accounting operations.
This position is newly created as an intermediary between the Controller, who comes from a strong Public Accounting Background with High Profile Financial Services Firm experience and CPA/MBA, and the small but growing team of Staff & Seniors.
The Senior Accountant will be an individual contributor to start, as the Controller prefers this person to get up to speed and become a subject matter expert before taking on the additional challenge of managing the team. Once comfortable, direct reports will come. The Senior title is critical as this is a key position that will interface with Investors and Partners so experience and credibility are paramount.
The Senior Accountant can come from any industry as they will be most heavily focused on the Management Company side and will work to master and fully leverage the Financial System, Improve Management Reporting & CFO/Partner Dashboards and enhance the close process. The Accounting Manager will interact heavily with the Fund team so there is a major opportunity to diversify if the chosen candidate does not already bring Fund Accounting experience.
What does the Senior Accountant need to bring to the table?
3+ Years of Progressive Accounting Experience
Foundation in Public Accounting is a PLUS!
CPA is a PLUS!
Financial Services experience is a PLUS...but strong Financial Reporting & Close Experience in Any Industry is welcomed!
