Job Description Job Description Software Development Engineer in Test
At Modular Medical, our goal is to simplify diabetes management, ensuring that everyone has access to the superior care that insulin pumps offer. We believe that managing diabetes should be empowering, not intimidating. You shouldn’t have to be a tech expert or a math genius to take charge of your health.
Please note: This is an on-site position is based in San Diego, CA. This role is not eligible for relocation assistance .
Essential Job Functions:
Position responsibilities include, but may not be limited to the following:
Take ownership of automated integration test system
Develop new automated integration tests
Enhance capabilities of the test system for a new generation of the product
Other duties as assigned
Education: BS/BA degree required in Computer Science or related engineering field
Experience:
5+ years Python development in the context of embedded systems
3+ years' experience with developing or testing physical devices
2+ years of Linux OS
Medical device experience or experience in a regulated industry
Skills (Required):
Knowledge of communication protocols, data acquisition, and physical controllers
Strong experience with software development tools, version control, communication protocols, and development process
Skills (Preferred ):
Experience with real-time operating systems
Experience with unit testing of embedded software
Experience with microcontrollers and FPGA's
Physical: Ability to sit or stand for extended periods of time
Ability to infrequently lift and/or move up to 35 pounds

Compensation : The pay range for this position is $120,000 - $160,000 annually. The actual base pay offered may vary depending on several factors, including job-related knowledge/skills, experience, business needs, geographical location, and internal equity. Additionally, we offer a comprehensive benefits package for our employees and their dependents, including medical, dental, vision, and life insurance, a generous PTO policy, and new hire stock options.
