Basic Function

About the Position

Under the direction of the Information Systems Director, the IS Business Analyst is responsible for the City's Enterprise Asset Management platform. This position supports stakeholders (asset owner) to leverage the platform through process analysis, deep understanding of both the business process and the enterprise system, and configuration of the enterprise system to best meet stakeholders' operational needs. The position is responsible for supporting and assisting with training of users of the City's Enterprise Asset Management platform and serves as the liaison between the operational staff and the IS team. This position is exempt and ineligible for overtime, and is a member of the AFSCME Collective Bargaining Unit.

Representative Duties

Serve as steward of the City's Enterprise Asset Management platform by managing system configuration and implementing workflows, within Commercial-Off-The-Shelf (COTS) and/or Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) solutions, that align with the City's current and future Asset Management program needs. E Provide business analysis and requirements gathering. Work with stakeholders to understand and document business processes and requirements. Use asset management best practices as a basis for collaboration with stakeholders and subject matter experts to modify enterprise system processes and implement stakeholder approved changes. E Assist technical and non-technical stakeholders in understanding the capabilities of the City's Enterprise Asset Management platform and work with them to develop business processes, as needed, to achieve City goals. E Serve as the primary interface with stakeholders on behalf of the Information Systems division for Enterprise Asset Management platform related issues. E Assist stakeholders in understanding how to achieve their asset management goals and operational needs with available enterprise software and workflows and use the application platform to better meet operational objectives. Required Education and Experience

A Bachelor's degree in geographic information systems or computer science. A minimum of three (3) years as a Business or Functional Analyst including application configuration, report development and analytics, working with a transactional application and working with geographical information systems.

OR

A combination of education, training and experience that provides the candidate with the knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the job.

Licenses and Other Requirements

Valid Washington State driver's license is required 45-days after appointment date. A three-year driving record abstract must be submitted prior to hire.

Preferred

Experience with Esri ArcGIS preferred. CityWorks administration preferred. Municipal experience preferred.

The successful candidate must have successful references and pass a criminal background check prior to hire.

Deferred Compensation:

Employees have the option of contributing to an MissionSquare 457 plan.
