Duration: Direct Hire Full Time

Compensation: $200,000 - $210,000 + up to 15% bonus

Kubernetes Platform Architect

We are currently seeking a Kubernetes Platform Architect to become a member of our Platform Engineering Team in Dallas, TX. The ideal candidate should have broad knowledge and experience in software development, cloud infrastructure, and security principles.

Responsibilities:

Architect and implement scalable, multi-tenant Kubernetes solutions that support diverse operational needs across group companies.

Utilize Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools to automate the setup and deployment of Kubernetes clusters, ensuring repeatable and efficient processes.

Simplify the Kubernetes deployment process to create a user-friendly environment that abstracts underlying complexities.

Develop and maintain a robust monitoring framework to manage and oversee Kubernetes cluster services and fleet operations effectively.

Create detailed documentation of the Kubernetes architecture, deployment processes, and monitoring frameworks.

Conduct comprehensive training sessions for the current staff to ensure a smooth transition and ongoing operational excellence.

Requirements: Deep understanding of Kubernetes architecture, including cluster setup, scaling, and management.

Expertise in Docker and other containerization technologies, along with container registry management.

Proficient with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools like Terraform or Ansible.

Strong experience with cloud computing services such as AWS, Azure, and GCP, including familiarity with their managed Kubernetes services (EKS, AKS, GKE).

Ability to implement comprehensive monitoring solutions using Prometheus, Grafana, or the ELK stack.

Competence in scripting and automation using languages such as Bash, Python, or Go.

Knowledge of network and security best practices within Kubernetes environments.

Ability to act both as an individual contributor and as a technical leader within large, diverse teams.

Excellent communication skills, capable of effective collaboration and knowledge sharing.

Nice to have: Proficiency in GitOps methodologies, particularly using Flux, to maintain consistency and reliability across Kubernetes deployments.

Experience with Kubernetes Operators for managing complex applications within the Kubernetes environment.

Knowledge in managing large-scale Kubernetes clusters using fleet management practices to ensure streamlined operations across multiple deployments.

Demonstrated ability to leverage advanced Kubernetes features and tools to optimize and secure containerized applications.
