The Marketing and Communcations Administrator will lead and manage the planning, implementation, and evaluation of the communications and marketing strategies for the Department of Mechanical Engineering (MechE). This is an exciting opportunity for a dynamic and innovative communications and marketing professional, to implement creative strategies for increasing MechE program visibility. In this role, you will lead the execution of key departmental projects and covering a wide range of marketing deliverables, including but not limited to collateral, merchandising, creative signage, integrated campaigns, website management and design support, presentation templates and photo/video. You will be creating engaging, relevant messages and positioning of MechE in traditional and digital media. You will write and place press releases, blog posts, news articles, advertisements and social media. One must be able to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast paced environment, ensuring that each is complete, on time, on budget, meet project objectives, and adhere to MechE brand standards.

Required Skills:
• 1-3 years of experience in related field is preferred.
• Previous experience with sanitation preferred (as applicable).
• Ability to work in conditions, which include multiple, and sometimes conflicting priorities, extended work schedules, and specific time constraints.
• Knowledge of good manufacturing practices, hazard analysis and critical control points, lean manufacturing and other food safety, quality, and manufacturing principles.
• Ability to communicate effectively in writing and verbally with employees at all levels of the organization.
• Ability to work with employees at all levels and to motivate direct reports; specifically mentoring and coaching individuals and identifying short- and long-term development needs and providing appropriate support.
• Ability to oversee priorities in an environment of frequently changing circumstances.
• Excellent proficiency in all Microsoft Office Suite Products.
• BA/BS or equivalent is preferred.
• Or 5+ years of equivalent work experience with Food Safety/Quality Assurance along with specific certifications (HACCP, etc.)
• Work can be performed within a manufacturing plant environment with noise, extreme temperatures, and significant movement of powered equipment, people and conveyor (may depend on the role).
• Work conditions are typical of a food manufacturing facility.
• This role does not require any domestic travel
• Frequent weekend work may be required.
• Position may require the physical agility of lifting up to 50 pounds
• Position may require frequent and/or infrequent of bending, squatting, pushing, pulling, stretching/reaching, use hands or fingers, talk, hear, feel objects, tools, controls, and standing/walking on concrete flooring.
• Position may require the physical ability to stand/walk for Greater than 4 hours.
