Position Description:
JTEC Consulting is hiring a Data Engineer to work in support of a large-scale data analytics platform. This is a collaborative environment working with data scientists, data visualization experts, and data developers. This position requires excellent analytical skills and the ability to work directly with the government customer in a dynamic mission driven environment. Qualified candidates will have experience with automation, enhancing data quality, and visualizing analytics.
Prior experience supporting one of the OSD Principal Staff Assistant (PSA) offices and/or knowledge of PSA offices is a plus.

Duties and responsibilities include: Work as part of an enterprise-wide team collaborating with other data engineers, data scientists, and product leads to develop innovative solutions for data requirements.
Develop automations, enhance data quality, and visualize analytics.
Build pipelines to collect data from disparate external sources.
Implement rules and perform validation and analytics to ensure expected data is received, cleansed, transformed, and in an optimized output format.
Support automation and performance optimization.
Monitor pipeline status and performance.
Support troubleshooting and issue resolution.
Support on-site work daily
Other duties as assigned.
Education and qualifications: Current TS/SCI security clearance required for consideration
Bachelor’s degree in a related discipline (equivalent years of related experience may be considered in lieu of a degree)
4-7 years of related experience (under 4 years of related experience will be considered with prior OSD or DoD experience) including: Highly proficient Python developer skills
Experience with modern programming languages such as Java and Spark
Experience using SQL and ETL
Experience working in a distributed environment using Apache Kafka and Apache Airflow
Experience with stream processing using Apache Flink or StreamSets
Understanding of data challenges within distributed computer systems
Experience working in big data cloud environments
Proficiency working across MS Office Suite including advanced Excel skills
Effective written and verbal communication skills to excel in dynamic team environment with blended government and contractor staff
Commitment to work on-site daily is required
Preferred Experience: Prior experience supporting an OSD Principal Staff Assistant (PSA) office
Experience working in an Agile development environment
Experience working with data visualization tools and dashboards
