Job Summary
Join GateWay Community College as the new Director of Research & Planning. We are recognized as a college of well-being and one of the most promising places to work! The Director of Research and Planning supports planning and implementation of strategic initiatives established by the college. This position reports to the Associate Vice President of Strategy, Planning and Institutional Effectiveness. In this role the individual plans, directs and administers institutional research programs including the planning, research, development and maintenance of complex processes, dashboard systems, and data analytics. Responsible for leading the Institutional Research office and supervising one or more senior research analysts, coordinating and conducting institutional research functions to provide information that supports institutional planning and decision-making for the college. Working extensively and in close collaboration with departments, the Director, Research & Planning executes projects and initiatives in accordance with the needs of the college. Essential Functions
40% Directs institutional research and planning programs to support a data-driven and data-literate culture; collaborates with college administrators in developing benchmarks, key performance indicators, score cards, dashboards, and other metrics and performance measures; composes, reviews, finalizes and approves reports and other work products of the unit. Manages complex data analysis, data interpretation, and information research in support of strategic, budgeting and operational planning; develops and delivers workshops and training. Collaborates with Division leadership to drive strategic direction for both the Institutional Effectiveness team and GateWay. Plans, organizes, assigns, supervises, reviews and evaluates the work of staff.30% Establishes a research and analytics agenda for the college to support data-driven decision making; designs, writes, and validates complex queries for data extraction, develops analytic data visualization dashboards; analyzes and interprets complex data sets using quantitative and qualitative analyses and statistical techniques; prepare reports and present findings to appropriate leadership units. 20% Collaborate and support College stakeholders with data, analysis and reporting structures for student learning outcomes assessment; data and analysis support for departmental and organizational evaluation for effectiveness. Provides a high level of support to College accreditation efforts with the Higher Learning Commission. Supports the implementation of the Four Disciplines of Execution (4DX).10% Researches and implements industry standards, trends, best practices and emerging technologies for the work unit; serves as liaison and representative with organizations and committees; prepares reports to comply with reporting requirements from State and Federal agencies; performs other duties as assigned. Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree from a regionally accredited institution in statistics, educational studies, business administration or directly related field and six (6) years of progressively responsible experience administering institutional effectiveness programs and activities, which includes two (2) years of supervisory experience.ORAssociate's degree from a regionally accredited institution from a regionally accredited institution in statistics, educational studies, business administration or directly related field and eight (8) years of progressively responsible experience administering institutional effectiveness programs and activities, which includes two (2) years of supervisory experience.

High School or GED and ten (10) years of progressively responsible experience administering institutional effectiveness programs and activities, which includes two (2) years of supervisory experience. Desired Qualifications
A. Demonstrated experience developing queries and organizing/analyzing/modeling data in query tools like Tableau or SQL tools like TOAD, Oracle SQL Developer, SPSS or R (for data analysis), etc.B. Experience developing dashboards in Tableau or similar products that would bring transferable skills to Tableau and developing research briefs and data visualizations that quickly convey a precise message about the data analysis covered in the research briefC. Experience providing consultations to customers/users of institutional research products/dataD. Experience leading institutions/organizations to use data to understand diversity, equity, and inclusion impacts on their communitiesE.
