About The Role:
The Design Operations Manager is a dynamic and multifaceted role responsible for overseeing the operational efficiency and design aspects within the design department. This individual will play a crucial role in ensuring seamless execution of events, managing projects, and maintaining high standards of creativity and quality in design.
Key Responsibilities:
Oversee day-to-day operations within the design department, ensuring efficiency and adherence to timelines.
Collaborate with all other departments to streamline processes and enhance overall operational effectiveness.
Learn quickly to be fluent in the programs that the company operates by implementing and optimize systems for inventory management, resource allocation, and project tracking.
Lead end-to-end project management for design-related initiatives, from conception to completion.
Coordinate with clients, sales teams, and other stakeholders to understand project requirements and expectations.
Develop project timelines, allocate resources, and monitor progress to ensure on-time and within-budget delivery.
Manage the creative design process, ensuring that all design elements align with the company's brand and client expectations.
Collaborate with the design team to develop innovative concepts and themes for events and catering setups.
Conduct regular design reviews and provide constructive feedback to maintain high-quality standards.
Act as a primary point of contact for clients regarding design-related matters.
Understand client preferences and incorporate them into design concepts.
Ensure client satisfaction by delivering exceptional and visually appealing designs.
Work closely with the finance department to create and manage budgets for design projects.
Making purchase proposals.
Monitor expenses, identify cost-saving opportunities, and ensure projects are completed within budget constraints.
Recruit, train, and mentor design team members.
Foster a collaborative and creative work environment that encourages innovation and excellence.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Design, Project Management, Business, or related field.
Proven experience in project management and design within the catering or events industry.
Strong organizational, leadership, and interpersonal skills.
Proficiency in design software and project management tools.
Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
Flexibility to work evenings and weekends as needed for events.
Extra Bonus Skills:
Any prior experience in event design
Any prior experience in building spaces/furniture/fabrication
Any prior experience in interior design and/or production design
Location: Bronx, NY
Salary: $80,000 - $85,000 per year
Job Type: Full-time
