It's not every day that you consider starting a new career. We're RingCentral, and we're happy that someone as talented as you is considering this role. First, a little about us, we're the $2 billion global leader in cloud-based communications and collaboration software. We are fundamentally changing the nature of human interaction-giving people the freedom to connect powerfully and personally from anywhere, at any time, on any device.

This is where you and your skills come in. We're currently looking for:

A Senior Content Designer - User Education to help us shape the future of providing world-class help experiences for our users. This role will be based in the US, but you must be willing to travel if needed.

You'll be joining RingCentral's global product design team and working closely with product managers, designers, engineers, technical support staff, and various company partners to develop intuitive help and support solutions for our users.

Working in User Education, you'll be an integral part of a cross-functional team supporting product design, a tireless advocate for our users, with a relentless focus on gathering and organizing the product details needed to scope, design and write clear, concise and consistent user education materials.

To succeed in this role you must have experience in:

Building strong partnerships and collaborating with designers, researchers, product managers, developers, and other stakeholders

Working with internal teams and stakeholders to obtain an in-depth understanding of products and services, their target audiences, and the respective documentation needs

Figuring out the best way to get our customers the product information they need when and where they need it

Developing and understanding of the different types of users of our products, considering their different information needs, and writing documentation that supports them

Writing help articles, video scripts, and other aids that make our products easy to learn and intuitive to use

Auditing and evaluating existing content and developing a practical approach for improvement

Researching and testing products, services, and technology, to create quality documentation

Integrating information on user feedback to improve the comprehension and usability of your documentation

Producing documentation that complies with existing style and vocabulary guidelines

Maintaining and helping to evolve our help and support guidelines and vocabulary

Contributing to the growth and culture of the UX team

Desired Qualifications:

You show up with openness and curiosity and a strong portfolio of work that demonstrates your expertise in creating a variety of relevant and compelling documentation materials. Show us how help content doesn't have to be stuffy.

You have a passion for helping people understand what's hard to understand and a background that looks something like this:

You earned a Bachelor's degree or higher from an accredited university in English, technical writing, communications, information management, software engineering, teaching, or a related field.

You have at least 5+ years of experience writing and editing user documentation for software products. We'll ask you to share samples of your work.

You have excellent written and verbal communication skills and a keen eye for detail.

You can quickly learn and understand complex topics.

You can synthesize technical and complex information to produce effective documentation and educational material.

You can work independently on multiple projects, engaging at different levels of the organization, from individual contributors to executive staff.

You adapt well to changing priorities in a fast-paced environment.

You show a high level of empathy for the user and follow a human-centered approach to writing.

You are always looking for ways to improve your writing practice, including new tools, techniques, and processes

You think it's fun to debate the use of commas, the details of capitalization rules, the need for punctuation in status messages, and the like. You always look forward to sweating the details.

You're a critical thinker with a can-do attitude, and no task is too small.

You're willing to travel as needed.
