About the Role
The Company is seeking a Vice President of Communications to lead the development and implementation of strategic communication plans that amplify the brand and engage with both internal and external stakeholders. The successful candidate will be responsible for driving a comprehensive approach to communications, including customer education, community engagement, and media relations. This role requires a strategic thinker with a proven track record in managing complex communication challenges, and the ability to influence others in a matrixed organization. The Vice President will also be tasked with instilling a customer-focused mindset, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, and leading the company's crisis communications strategy. Candidates for the Vice President of Communications position at the company should have a Bachelor's degree in a relevant field, with a Master's degree preferred, and 10-15+ years' of experience in leadership roles within the communications sector, ideally with a background in a regulated utility environment. The role demands an individual with excellent skills in professional and creative writing, media relations, government relations, and public speaking. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of the utility regulatory environment, and the ability to manage a diverse team while collaborating across the organization. Key focus areas for the role include customer communications, employee engagement, community relations, and crisis communications. The candidate should be a strong leader, with the ability to build and maintain relationships, and a proven track record of delivering targeted results.
