Accounting Manager/Director

Our client is an international consulting firm, and their Houston office is looking for strong candidates with finance and accounting experience to join the Corporate Finance and Operations Consulting team. This firm helps CFOs in making critical decisions directly impacting the success of the business. They provide advisory, project management and interim service, as well as supporting critical finance transformation and performance improvement activities.
The ideal candidate will have experience and knowledge in many of the following areas:
Full-cycle accounting and finance processes and performance improvement (i.e., Procure to Pay, Record to Report, Invoice to Cash)
Finance and accounting functional effectiveness
Cost management
Financial planning and analysis
Merger, acquisition and divestiture support
Internal controls and Sarbanes Oxley (SOX)
SEC Reporting
Supporting external audit processes
Treasury management
Accounting remediation
Bankruptcy reporting
Experience serving in CFO advisory and interim leadership capacities a plus
Responsibilities Include:
Assist in the planning and execution project phases, and supervise others as necessary to ensure the following: coordinating work efforts with the client; completion of defined deliverables; adherence to project milestones and timelines; communication of progress to all parties (internal and external); and managing team members, as necessary
Provide service excellence by identifying key client business issues
Determine client needs by supplementing the standard assessment techniques and tools with innovative approaches
Evaluate and validate analysis and develop recommendations for the client in the context of the overall engagement
Implement and oversee the quality of deliverables
Effectively manage the team and day-to-day relationships to ensure exceptional performance
Participate in the development and presentation of proposals for business development activities
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in accounting; CPA required
6-15 years of relevant consulting, public accounting or industry experience
Big Four public accounting experience a plus
Oil and gas experience a plus
Interim CFO/Controller/Treasury roles a plus
Strong knowledge and application of GAAP
Strong finance related and ERP software skills
Systems implementation/integration experience is highly desirable
Strong oral and written communication skills, including presentation skills (MS Excel, Word, Visio and PowerPoint)
Strong problem solving and troubleshooting skills with the ability to exercise mature judgment
Comfortable with travel up to 80%
