Job DescriptionThe Peer Support Specialist, as part of an integrated care team, will provide peer-based, supportive services to adults, children, adolescents and families as assigned by a designated QMHP or Clinical Supervisor. The Counselor I may be assigned to any agency program including, but not limited to: ACT,
Crisis, Intensive Services, Outpatient, Jail Diversion, Wrap, Residential or Detox. Essential duties may vary per location/department/position.
This position is a Saturday -Wednesday 8:00 am- 5:00 pm
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Provide peer support, skills training and other services to assigned individuals
Assist individuals with accessing housing and other community benefits
Assist individuals by providing a warm hand off to other agency departments for services
Assist individuals with identifying a recovery goals and safety plans
Coordination of services with community partners and attend assigned meetings
Clinical record keeping and report writing
Respond to crisis calls as appropriate per location/position
Participate in agency staff meetings
Liaison with human service organizations
Coverage for team members
Driving duties may assigned as needed for such things as client shopping and appointments
Individual skills training
Consultation/education
Information/referral
Community outreach
Attend all staff meetings and training as assigned and/or needed
Participate in regular supervision with Clinical Supervisor
Wellness walks with clients
Other duties may be assigned as needed
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: Bachelors degree in social services field required and/or ability to be qualified as a QMHA. CADC I required or ability to obtain within 1 year of hire. 1-3 years related work experience preferred. History of working cooperatively in a team. Must have a Peer Support Specialist certification by
the State of Oregon or the ability to obtain certification within 3 months. Combination of education/experience that demonstrates the ability to perform the duties
