Job Description
Systems Administration Services. The Service Provider shall provide support for the installation, maintenance, configuration and administration of the 10 MDG information systems and network servers. Currently, the Customer’s network consists of items such as Remote Access Servers (RAS), fax servers, print servers, compact disc (CD) towers, file servers, and other application servers. Additionally, the Service Provider shall support the functionality, operation, administration and end- user requirements for servers and associated applications. This includes items such as system administrator duties, end-user support, and report development and processing support, as required. Detailed activities, essential tasks, and responsibilities shall include the following core functions.
The Service Provider shall:
Serve as the Customer’s point of contact for applications developed/implemented within the Customer’s organization by other Government organizations (e.g., Health Affairs, TRICARE Management Activity, etc.)
Manage, administer, and support the local servers, applications, hardware operation, operating system software, and system/user support within the guidelines of the Food and Drug
Administration (FDA) and its agencies, Department of Defense, and Defense Health Agency (DHA).
The contractor shall perform system lifecycle actions according to each system’s Certification and Accreditation (C&A) and Service Level Agreement guidelines.
Create and manage new and current user system accounts. Grant and maintain server access to all 10 MDG IM/IT staff.
Determine and apply appropriate permissions and/or privileges to user accounts in accordance with AF and DHA regulations.
Load software on servers and end-user devices in accordance with DHA, AF, DOD regulations.
Perform, maintain, and document Disaster Recovery Procedures, e.g., maintain system disc integrity, perform backups and fail-over tests, monitor system performance, and conduct capacity planning and general troubleshooting.
Serve as a liaison with application support representatives, as required.
Maintain a log of server outages, including cause and resolution.
Independently develop, test and implement PL/SQL queries.
Apply security patches/fixes as identified and approved by Air Force, DHA, DOD, and Vendors.
Installation of data center equipment, network devices, and peripheral devices; maintain current revision levels, and test and certify new revisions of the operating system and layered product software.
Configure Redundant Arrays of Inexpensive Disks (RAID)
Interface with more than one server operating system and internetworking between operating systems, e.g., Microsoft’s XP, 2005, 2008, 2012, 2016, 2019, 2022, 7, 10, and 11 family of operating systems, its Exchange family of electronic mail systems, and its SharePoint system.
Assist with and/or provide training for staff as needed. Share information with internal personnel on Systems Administration Services duties.
Required training and certifications
Any DISA/DHA required certifications within 6 months of employment.
