Design Studio Manager

Purpose
This Design Studio Manager is responsible for creating and leading a high-performance team that drives sales through achieving competitive store results. The Design Studio Manager will provide strong leadership and motivation to their team, drive new business and increase sales through client relationships, and manage operational functions in the store to ensure customer satisfaction, maximum productivity and profitability, inventory control, and compliance with company policy and procedures.
Minimum Eligibility Requirements
High school graduate or equivalent. College degree preferred or relevant design industry experience
Minimum of five (5) years of retail/showroom management experience and proven ability to lead in a highly consultative sales environment
Ability to adapt to highly complex business model
Demonstrated proficiency in recruiting, training, sales generation, operations, and merchandising
Excellent communication, delegation, follow-up up, and analytical skills
Ability to exercise independent discretion and judgment in managing a fast-paced environment and adapting to change with a sense of urgency
Must possess excellent customer service skills and work well under pressure
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
Perform other duties as assigned
Essential Functions
Responsible for hiring, determining compensation, and performance management of Design Studio associates
Directs and apportions the work of Design Consultants, Logistics Supervisor, and Merchandise Coordinator
Will work closely with the Company's Senior Management on strategy execution
Train, develop, motivate, and lead high-caliber design/sales talent
Planning and controlling the budget/P&L management
Ability to work in a highly collaborative environment with cross-functional partners
Manage the store and its employees to ensure all store sales goals are achieved.
Identify opportunities to drive sales generation and ensure action is taken to achieve goals.
Hold the team accountable to maintaining a high level of customer contact and executing the sales process from pre-appointment/initial customer engagement through post-purchase follow-up
Ensure brand standards and operating standards meet or exceed company expectations to support brand consistency.
Ensure store presentation standards are achieved and maintained.
Communicate merchandise market trend information to the Senior Director Regional Merchandiser (SDRM)
Participate in Product Line Reviews (PLR)
Conduct recruiting, interviewing, and selection processes to ensure that the store is properly staffed.
Create and maintain store team, regional, and corporate relationships.
Monitor, maintain, and follow company policies; support company expectations and systems.
Handle store-level human resources or loss prevention issues with the Senior Director Regional Operations (SDRO), Human Resources Manager, or Loss Prevention Manager when necessary.
Responsible for the execution and management of design applications i.e.; SketchUp, proprietary Online Design Appointment Scheduler, MyOrder, Salesforce (CRM), etc
Network, participate, in and/or host professional design affiliations to promote the Design Studio i.e. ASID, NKBA. IIDA, etc
Responsible for building and maintaining external third relationships to drive business and provide additional service offerings to our customers i.e. IME, HausPro, etc
Build strong community relationships/partnerships to optimize grassroots marketing efforts
Stays current on design trends and have a clear understanding of trends in the market
Perform additional managerial duties as required
