Job Description Summary:
The Office for Study Abroad (OSA) provides and facilitates quality international educational opportunities at The George Washington University. As educators, we promote students' academic, personal, professional, and intercultural development before, during, and after their study abroad experiences. The OSA works with undergraduate students seeking semester or year-long study abroad experiences both outbound from and inbound to GW. As international educators, we also celebrate the diversity of GW's student body as one of its greatest assets. We recognize the tremendous value of learning from each other's differences and are committed to promoting this diversity in study abroad. We are particularly focused on working to improve the participation of students from groups that are typically underrepresented in study abroad.
The George Washington University (GW) Office for Study Abroad (OSA) seeks a Senior Program Coordinator, Study Abroad. This position will primarily be responsible for advising students and managing applications for a portfolio of GW's signature program options, but will also be responsible for managing a team of student workers and an administrative assistant.
Reporting to the Assistant Director for Study Abroad, the Senior Program Coordinator, Study Abroad through advising, outreach and programming, material creation, application management and technological support, and additional direct contact with students, parents, campus partners, and other stakeholders, contributes to student's successful participation in and preparation for GW's signature programs and therefore university priorities of internationalization, inclusion, retention, and quality academic and experiential learning. Responsibilities include:
Advising students on GW's signature study abroad programs including but not limited to the Global Bachelor's Program
Advising a small portfolio of school-specific students within the academic schools of Milken Institute for Public Health and the School of Engineering and Applied Sciences
Updating and maintaining signature programs within the TerraDotta system including requirements, parameters, brochures, etc.
Managing student applications for select programs and student records in collaboration with on-campus stakeholders/partners
Collaborating with international partners to ensure students' successful completion of the application and enrollment process
Facilitating outreach, programming, and marketing activities to support the programs' enrollment and retention goals
Coordinating program-specific Pre-Departure Orientations
Hiring, training, and managing an annually rotating team of student workers who serve as study abroad peer advisors and front desk express advising and administrative support
Managing a full-time administrative assistant staff member
Supporting additional programming, marketing, and technological needs as assigned
The incumbent may perform other related duties as assigned.
The omission of specific duties does not preclude the supervisor from assigning duties that are logically related to the position.
Minimum Qualifications:
Qualified candidates will hold a high school diploma/GED plus 3 years of relevant professional experience, or, a Bachelor's degree or higher in a relevant area of study. Degree must be conferred by the start date of the position. Degree requirements may be substituted with an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
Additional Required Licenses/Certifications/Posting Specific Minimum Qualifications:

Prior experience working with TerraDotta software
Prior experience working with student information systems such as Banner
Prior experience planning, coordinating and executing events and programming
Prior experience with student advising or student services
Prior experience with various international student visa policies and procedures

Hiring Range
$21.27 - $27.63
