PAY RANGE: $140,500.00 - $160,000.00 Annually

GENERAL DESCRIPTION:

The Director of Enterprise Communications is an ambassador of Golden 1’s mission, vision, and culture and provides direct oversight for all strategies and activities that inform, excite, and engage Credit Union leaders and employees in alignment with Golden 1’s goals and objectives. Empowered with visibility to enterprise-wide initiatives, this position consults with key stakeholders to leverage internal channels to demonstrate inclusion, reflect understanding of employee needs, and maintain brand consistency to achieve optimal impact through internal and executive communications.

This position requires cross-functional collaboration in the strategic development and execution of internal communications programs to drive employee engagement for Golden 1 and provide communications support through partnerships with ED&C, HR, CCR, Marketing, and revenue generating business lines.

The Director will additionally evaluate and analyze insights and learnings to define benchmarks and maximize return on objectives, recommending improvements and innovations through regular, constructive dialogue with senior leadership and colleagues within and outside the department.

TASKS, DUTIES, FUNCTIONS:

Serve on the department leadership team, working with other department leaders and teams to help create and execute an integrated enterprise communications and development strategy.

Manage, identify, develop, and evaluate strategies that ensure our enterprise communications initiatives exemplify Golden 1 Credit Union’s culture, vision, and strategic priorities.

Establish and track metrics that help correlate enterprise communications programs to employee engagement and organization performance.

Represent the voice of the employee to leadership and reflect employee voice in messaging.

Provide direct communications support to executive and senior leadership and collaborate with cross-functional team leaders to coordinate project communications and messages that enhance their internal presence and contribute to the achievement of project goals.

Maintain visibility to enterprise-wide initiatives across business lines to identify, develop, and evaluate areas for leveraging, improving, and innovating enterprise communications.

Partner with HR in the development of strategies and execution of tactics for Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion.

Oversee and optimize all employee communications, including emails, newsletters and announcements that keep employees informed about relevant news and information.

Build and execute communications to support Golden 1 culture, focused on the core principles that make our culture strong and unique.

Manage content on G1 Insiders and ensure all materials are aligned with company priorities and communication strategy.

Meet deadlines, prioritize communication requests, and maintain strong attention to detail to ensure consistency and quality.

Research and write Board, Committee, and C-level reports, as well as attend meetings as necessary, ensuring timely delivery to all stakeholders; edit and develop content for the monthly report.

Assist and support the VP - Enterprise Development and Communications with development of annual and ongoing strategy and budgets, planning, coordination, and implementation of programs and initiatives.

Manage annual budget for the Enterprise Communications department.

Develop and maintain relationships with external vendors.

Maintain a thorough understanding of state and federal laws and regulations related to credit union compliance including bank secrecy and anti-money laundering laws appropriate to the position.

Develop and maintain an understanding of the pertinent regulatory requirements and risks inherent to job responsibilities, establish, and maintain control activities that mitigate those risks consistent with the Credit Union’s risk appetite, and ensure operational integrity and compliance with applicable regulations.

PHYSICAL SKILLS, ABILITIES, AND EXERTION UTILIZED IN THE PERFORMANCE OF THESE TASK:

Exceptional research skills with strong ability to analyze and present data to inform and influence business decisions.

Strong, effective, and persuasive business writing skills, from generating reports to creating presentations.

Effective oral and presentation skills required.

Must possess sufficient manual dexterity to skillfully operate an on-line computer terminal and other standard office equipment, such as financial calculators, personal computer, facsimile machine, and telephone.

Excellent oral and written communication skills required to consistently deliver a clear and consistent message to Golden 1 employees.

ORGANIZATIONAL CONTACTS & RELATIONSHIPS:

INTERNAL: All levels of staff and management

EXTERNAL: Members, Potential Members, Potential Employees, Vendors, Community Leaders, 3rd party vendors, other credit union representatives.

QUALIFICATIONS:

EDUCATION: Bachelor’s degree in communications, journalism, public relations, or a related field required.

EXPERIENCE: Minimum 15 years of experience in communications, marketing, and/or corporate affairs with emphasis on developing and managing communications programs. Experience building partnerships and relationships within the organization. Experience in communications campaign practices and programming. Strategic planning with enterprise mindset required.

KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS: Knowledge of corporate communications practices and trends. Strong work ethic with a passion to advocate and serve internal audiences. Detail-oriented, with strong leadership, project management, and organizational skills. Strong writing skills. Self-starter attitude and can work independently and as part of a larger team. Excellent interpersonal, communication, and analytical skills. Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment. Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.

LICENSES / CERTIFICATIONS:

A valid California Driver’s License is required.
