Senior Network Engineer

Position Description

Join Serco as a Senior Network Engineer. You will be on a team that is evaluating and managing the delivery of new amphibious ships and landing craft to the fleet. Our team is led by a Program Manager and Deputy Program Manager, each having decades of experience working in the DoD and Shipbuilding Industry.

This position is contingent on your ability to obtain, maintain, or transfer your Secret clearance post-employment.

Our Naval Acquisition and Sustainment Operation, which is part of Serco's Maritime Engineering, Technology and Sustainment (METS) business, provides critical services to nearly all U.S. Navy amphibious ships and craft. You will work closely with Government and industry professionals, shipbuilders, and other support personnel. We have only one objective: to ensure our clients’ mission objectives are achieved with the highest level of capability and assurance, and at the lowest possible cost. Bring your expertise and collaborative skills to make an impact towards our military defense and safety of our sailors and marines.

In this role you will:

Support the Program Office's efforts to deliver a range of shipboard networks and systems, including Navigation, HM&E, ECS, and C4I.

Provide technical subject matter expertise input for the implementation of shipboard network systems, policies, procedures, and provide advice on network systems design efforts.

Apply technical expertise to perform technical and nontechnical system evaluations, network and application security reviews (including RMF), identify gaps in security architecture, recommend risk acceptance, and develop a security risk management plan.

Provide key technical input (IAW DoD/DON Issuances, Instructions, Publications, Administrative Instructions and Directive Type Memoranda advice on network systems design efforts) for system implementation and configuration, and identify security deficiencies during system reviews and certification testing ensuring successful transition from development to operation.

Work as technical team advisor, sharing information, and accepting and providing constructive feedback.

In compliance with local laws regarding pay transparency, the salary range for this role is $112,133.01 to $186,888.35; however, Serco considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role and associated responsibilities, a candidate's work experience, education/training, and key skills.

Qualifications

To be successful in this role:

A Bachelor’s Degree with 8-10 years of relevant experience in designing and/or evaluating network systems. In some cases, educational requirements may be adjusted or waived for 15 years or more of proven relevant experience involving designing, evaluating, and testing network systems. Work experience may be adjusted based on education, or highly specialized knowledge or uniquely applicable experience for positions involving new technology or labor market shortages as reflected by market survey data.

Possess United States (U.S.) citizenship.

Must be able to obtain, maintain or transfer an active DoD Secret clearance post-employment.

Possess familiarity of Modular Open Systems Approach (MOSA), formerly known as Open Systems Architecture or Open Systems Approach, as a technical and business strategy for designing an affordable and adaptable system.

Possess expert knowledge of analytical techniques and have ability to adapt study and analytical methods and techniques, interpret findings, and make recommendations.

10% travel required

Additional desired experience and skills:

Relevant U.S. Navy or U.S. Coast Guard experience in the areas of ship construction or ship repair.

Relevant Amphibious warship experience.

Experience in DoD/Navy ACAT I Programs.
