Prototyping Architect, PACE

Seattle, WA, United States

Job ID: 2676768 | Amazon Web Services, Inc.

AWS Sales, Marketing, and Global Services (SMGS) is responsible for driving revenue, adoption, and growth from the largest and fastest growing small- and mid-market accounts to enterprise-level customers including public sector.

The AWS Prototyping & Cloud Engineering (PACE) team is looking for builders with a passion for architecting solutions that accelerate our customers' ability to innovate on AWS. PACE builds with customers, experimenting quickly with potential concepts that serve as the basis for new products or services running on the AWS cloud. In the best cases, the customer will successfully take the prototype to production. In all cases, our customers will experience what’s possible on AWS and gain the confidence to create a culture of innovation in their own organization.

Your role as a prototyping architect involves working with customers to develop prototypes that are foundational to production solutions. Prototyping architects are typically full stack developers who are comfortable operating with multiple languages and frameworks to develop prototypes in emerging technology areas such as AI/ML, compute at the edge, robotics, and spatial computing. You will use a variety of AWS services to rapidly develop the prototypes, leveraging modern application architectural principles. You will gain knowledge in emerging technology and business trends, allowing you to share your insights through publicly shared design patterns, blogs, white papers, and reusable assets (i.e. reusable packaged code).

As a member of the core sales team, you will drive revenue growth across a defined set of customers. As a trusted customer advocate, you are responsible for guiding organizations in adopting advanced cloud-based solutions and migrating their workloads to the cloud. You'll be responsible for developing and implementing a strategy to build mindshare and increase adoption of AWS. You should be able to interact and communicate effectively with various teams at AWS, including services, marketing, and professional services, while also representing your own team to executive management.

In addition, we're looking for these qualities:

- At AWS, we have a credo of “Work hard. Have fun. Make history”. In this role, you will love what you do, and instinctively know how to make work fun. You will be dynamic and creative, and willing to take on any challenge and be eager to make a big impact.

- You stay intellectually curious and continuously develop your technical skills, you can make valuable contributions to deep architecture discussions. You will regularly take part in deep-dive education and design exercises to create world-class solutions built on AWS.

- You have an area of focus where you are a subject matter expert in technologies such as analytics, artificial intelligence, machine learning, security, some facet of big data ecosystem (e.g. Hadoop), or database expertise.

Diverse Experiences

AWS values diverse experiences. Even if you do not meet all of the preferred qualifications and skills listed in the job description, we encourage candidates to apply. If your career is just starting, hasn’t followed a traditional path, or includes alternative experiences, don’t let it stop you from applying.

We value work-life harmony. Achieving success at work should never come at the expense of sacrifices at home, which is why we strive for flexibility as part of our working culture. When we feel supported in the workplace and at home, there’s nothing we can’t achieve in the cloud.

Key job responsibilities
