Your role in the mission:

Type One Energy are looking for an experienced Engineering Technician for our Boston MA center of excellence. You will play a pivotal role in safety and reliably developing the manufacturing capability of our high temperature superconducting (HTS) magnet program.

You will work closely with Engineers, Physicists, and Senior Leadership Team to develop and perform manufacturing processes and procedures.

You will operate the systems required to build and test HTS magnet systems that may include cryogenics, CNC machines, machine tools, soldering and braising, vacuum, welding, and other specialized equipment. This position requires strong human performance skills, attention to detail, and safety as the top priority

What you’ll need:

Develop and implement a manufacturing strategy for our magnet activities, aligning with the organization's goals and objectives.

Work closely with our Manufacturing supervisor and a team of Engineers, ensuring a positive and productive work environment.

Provide guidance on technical and safety issues and offer training to improve team members' skills.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand, develop, and fulfil requirements.

Work closely with the Technology department to ensure engineered components are manufacturable, reliable, and designed with best practices in mind.

Monitor and address any safety or quality issues.

Maintain accurate records of activities, such as travellers.

Read and interpret assembly drawings, wiring diagrams, and detailed work instructions

Produce and Build a variety of electromechanical assemblies.

Required Experiences :

Proven experience in manufacturing, with a focus on safety, quality, and reliability.

Minimum 3 years of experience in manufacturing

General knowledge of electrical systems including soldering, basic circuits, power systems, electromechanical assemblies

Strong understanding of CNC machines (5 axis preferred), machine tools, high energy systems, etc. Ability to run a CNC machine unsupervised.

Experience in participating in or conducting safety reviews and investigations.

Experience writing and reviewing manufacturing checklists and procedures.

Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.

Knowledge of regulatory compliance related to manufacturing activities including Occupational Safety and Health standards.

Familiarity with general quality control systems and best practices.

Familiarity with large complex assemblies.

Ability to occasionally lift up to 50 lbs

Perform activities such as stooping, typing, standing, or sitting for extended periods of time

Associate degree or higher in engineering technology (preferred), a related field, or equivalent experience.

Familiarity with quality assurance and quality control processes. Hands on experience with HTS or cryogenic systems (desirable)

CNC/CAM Coding experience (desirable)

Familiarity with metrology systems such as laser scanning equipment, gauges, and hand measurement tools (desirable)
