SUMMARY
The IT Support Specialist provides Tier-1 technical support and assistance, whether on the phone, in person, or remotely, related to computer systems, hardware, and software.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Install and configure computer systems and applications within the company.
Respond to customer inquiries and assist in troubleshooting and resolving challenges.
Assure continuity of the computer system for all system users.
Research software products and applicability to organizational environment.
Document processes and perform diagnostic tests
Install selected software and hardware products.
Repair hardware as necessary and work closely with service vendors to ensure continuity of service.
Stay current of the latest developments in information technology.
Be "on-call" for all periods as assigned by the CIO.
Provide technical assistance and advice to users as needed.
Recommend changes in software and hardware to improve computer capabilities.
Assist in implementing practices that will more effectively utilize IT resources.
Other related duties as required or assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS
The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
Education and/or Experience
High School Diploma or similar with some Computer Science courses; 2+ years in IT related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience considered. Excellent problem-solving skills. Must have the ability to gather and analyze data, reason logically, draw valid conclusions and make appropriate recommendations. Must have the ability to multitask, work independently in a fast-paced environment, and handle and protect confidential information. Must exhibit excellent computer skills in all types of computer platforms.
Physical Demands
While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to sit and to use hands to type, handle, or feel and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to stand or walk. The employee is occasionally required to reach with hands and arms and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 75 pounds when maintaining IT equipment.
