VP of Operations

The Vice President of Operations will plan, direct, coordinate, and oversee operations activities in the organization, ensuring the development and implementation of efficient operations and cost-effective systems to meet the organization's current and future needs. The VP of Operations supervises people managers and individual contributors.

Duties/Responsibilities:

Establishes, implements, and communicates the strategic direction of the organization's operations division.

Oversee all manufacturing and production planning functions, ensuring efficiency, quality, and on-time delivery.

Manage the supply chain, including sourcing raw materials, managing inventory, and mitigating risks.

Drive process optimization initiatives to streamline operations, improve productivity, and reduce costs.

Establish manufacturing policies in the areas of Lean Manufacturing techniques, materials, usage, shipping and receiving, capacity planning, production scheduling, safety, customer satisfaction, employee relations and performance measures.

Build, develop and manage a team capable of carrying out needed operations strategies and improving employee relations.

Collaborates with executive leadership and other divisions to develop and meet company goals while supplying expertise and guidance on operations projects and systems.

Collaborates with site managers to optimize operations and ensure smooth workflows.

Manages inventory levels and implements efficient inventory management systems.

Identifies, recommends, and implements new processes, technologies, and systems to improve and streamline organizational processes and use of resources and materials.

Ensures that departmental decisions and project plans such as those for staffing, development, organization, material efficiency, hardware acquisitions, and facilities are in line with the organization's business plan and vision.

Establishes, communicates, and implements operations-related policies, practices, standards, and security measures to ensure effective and consistent support and execution.

Reviews and approves cost-control reports, cost estimates, and staffing requirements for projects.

Establishes and administers the department's budget.

Presents periodic performance reports and metrics to the General Manager and other leadership.

Performs other related duties as assigned.

Required Skills/Abilities:

Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Strong supervisory and leadership skills.

Extensive knowledge of the principles, procedures, and best practices in the industry.

Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

This position requires 25-40% travel.

Education and Experience:

Bachelor's degree in engineering, Logistics, or Supply Chain Operations is preferred.

MBA preferred.

Minimum of ten years of senior management experience in a Manufacturing/Logistics Environment.

Manufacturing experience at a $100MM+ company.

Experience managing multiple concurrent projects.

Experience in Lean/Six Sigma manufacturing operations.

Strong understanding of lean manufacturing principles and best practices in supply chain management.

Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).
