Overview
Job Purpose
Intercontinental Exchange is seeking a Senior Operations Designer to join its dynamic Creative Services team. This talented individual is a seasoned creative that executes designs for a wide range of marketing campaigns, digital initiatives and communications. The right candidate will be able to voice creative rationale, help guide design teammates, possess great attention to detail, be able to successfully meet deadlines with little direction and uphold processes across the team. The Senior Operations Designer will have the ability to articulate creative concepts and work with internal clients, designers and other stake holders to develop high-quality creative that support and enhance the Intercontinental Exchange brand.
The ideal candidate will be an experienced Graphic Designer with a portfolio that reflects his/her expertise in digital as well as print, in additional to operational management within the design realm. Intercontinental Exchange adopts a digital-first mindset, as such we are looking for a candidate that is well versed in the capabilities and limitations of digital channels and can speak the language of UX/UI, Email, and CMS to serve as a liaison between print, web and multimedia. This position reports to the Marketing Director, Creative Production.
Responsibilities
Lead design initiatives: Serve as the lead designer in developing campaign assets, ensuring alignment with the established design system. Guide junior teammates on tactical execution of deliverables while catering to the diverse needs of various channels and mediums utilized in marketing efforts.
Project scoping and execution: Scope projects effectively and collaborate with the broader design team and business to ensure timely and high-quality execution of project deliverables.
Engage in collaborative sessions: Participate in internal kick-offs, brainstorming sessions, and post-campaign reviews. Advocate for best practices, on-brand creative, optimal end-user experience, and manage stakeholder expectations effectively.
End-to-end project management: Manage projects from concept to completion, translating marketing objectives into strategic creative executions. Ensure all creative outputs align with the overall marketing strategy.
Creative strategy implementation: Design within creative strategies for marketing campaigns, digital initiatives, and communications, ensuring consistent brand experiences across all deliverables.
Communicate creative vision: Articulate creative rationale to various stakeholders, including designers, peers, and internal and external clients, ensuring a clear understanding and alignment on creative direction.
Maintain brand consistency: Develop creative assets that ensure a consistent brand experience across various deliverables, such as online graphics, presentations, tradeshow creatives, video storyboards/graphics, web content, advertising, etc.
Multi-project management: Juggle multiple projects while working with a range of internal clients, consistently delivering high-quality creative outputs within deadlines.
Operational management: manage operational design initiatives, including, but not limited to processes across the creative services team, Monday.com creative request dashboard, and proofing maintenance design deliverables from junior designers. Advocate for best practices and hold fellow lead designers and junior designers accountable.
Outline, document, and promote standards and design packages for adaptation across channels, reinforcing brand consistency and integrity.
Advocate for necessary tools, processes, or resources to enhance efficiency and consistency within the design discipline, ensuring optimal performance and output.
Guidelines and assets maintenance: Manage updates and general maintenance of brand guidelines and shared assets across creative and marketing teams to ensure they align with current brand standards and design systems. This includes: Brand guidelines

Design templates (assist lead designers in creating new templates for standardization, best practices, speed to market, and scalability across creative teams)
Microsoft Suite products
Innovative mindset: Approach work with an open and creative mindset, constantly looking to improve and evolve design processes and outputs.
Cross-functional collaboration: Proactively collaborate with Motion Graphics, Web, Email, and Photography teams to implement creative assets across mediums, ensuring a consistent look and feel for campaigns.
Brand integrity: Demonstrate a clear understanding of the Intercontinental Exchange brand and maintain its integrity through all creative development.
Team leadership: hold a leadership role on the team with junior designers where you assist with project management, design mentorship, adherence to brand guidelines and design best practices. Educate teammates and disseminate standards to ensure consistency in requests and manage expectations effectively, fostering a unified brand presentation.
Facilitate the onboarding, training, and support of team members in executing daily tasks, promoting proficiency and adherence to established standards.
Knowledge and Experience
Bachelors' Degree required (Fine Arts, Advertising or other related field)
Minimum of 5 years proven experience in a Designer role; Experience in a corporate and/or financial services industry a plus.
5+ years' experience in design applied to digital and print media in support of integrated marketing communications programs required.
Strong organizational skills and time management
Strong conceptual thinker and creative problem solver with the ability to prioritize assignments, and work successfully in a deadline driven environment required
Strong knowledge of current digital platforms, front-end web design and email template design
Ability to storyboard/sketch or translate ideas to design team to spark further idea generation and collaboration
Ability to translate complex ideas and data into infographics and other creative executions
Extensive experience and proficiency with current graphic design software and tools, practices and procedures including Adobe Creative Cloud (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, Acrobat), Microsoft PowerPoint and Microsoft Word, Keynote and others
Extensive knowledge of production processes for print, environmental and digital media
Expert knowledge of layouts, graphic fundamentals, typography, possibilities and limitations of media
Ability to travel as needed, and stay operative if traveling for business
Schedule
This role offers work from home flexibility of one day per week.
