Maintenance staff are responsible for handling general maintenance and repair. This position will fix and maintain general repairs for machines, mechanical equipment, and buildings. This position will be responsible for painting, repairing flooring, and working on plumbing, electrical, and air-conditioning and heating concerns.
Essential Functions:
Assist with projects including, but not limited to; plumbing, electrical, fire suppression systems, electronic access, grounds keeping, HVAC and electrical system.
Perform reasonable maintenance and repairs including patching, painting, moving furniture, and changing light bulbs.
Perform landscaping and snow removal tasks and supplement sidewalk shoveling, ice melt and landscaping as needed.
Maintain assigned facilities as prescribed (includes: sweeping and mopping floors, dusting common areas, cleaning dry erase/chalkboards, cleaning furniture, toilet fixtures, basins, mirrors, lavatories, classrooms and offices).
Empty trash cans and bins and recycle paper receptors. Removes other designated trash.
Replenish dispensers needed (includes paper towels, toilet tissue, trash can liners and hand soap).
Perform major seasonal cleaning of carpets, classrooms, windows, exterior porches, stairs and handicap entrances.
Perform specialized/deep cleaning.
Maintain supply closets stocked and in orderly manner.
Ensure that building equipment and systems are functioning properly.
Ensure that proper and timely preventive maintenance is completed.
Ensure that facility service calls are responded to, scheduled and completed in a timely and proper manner that minimizes disruptions.
Ensure the safety of the buildings from fire, flood, disrepair and other hazards.
Identify potential safety concerns and mitigates the hazards.
Identify the backlog of deferred maintenance and repairs for the facilities.
Inspect buildings’ structures to determine the need for repairs or renovations.
Proactively address all ongoing maintenance needs for the centers.
Respond to handle all emergency issues.
Maintain adequate parts inventory and order items as necessary.
Perform preventative maintenance and repair to ensure equipment is working properly.
Perform cleanliness/maintenance inspections.
Other task and responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications and Requirements
Level: High School Diploma or equivalent
1 year of experience as Maintenance Technician
Ability to perform all duties as required with or without an accommodation.
HVAC Certification (Preferred)
Must be bilingual (English/Spanish).

Working Conditions/Physical Effort
Work is performed mostly in an office setting. Evening and weekend work are requirements of the position as necessary. Regular computer work is required. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to stand; walk; sit; finger, handle, or feel objects, or controls; reach; climb stairs; balance; stoop, kneel, or crouch; talk and hear. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and must be able to work on a ladder. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
