Our client, a leading Global Freight Forwarder offering specialist services such as freight forwarding, customs brokerage, warehousing and project logistics, is recruiting for a Director of Warehouse Services which will report in to Head Office in New Jersey.
The position can be based remotely for the right candidate with occasional visits to the HQ in New Jersey.

The Role
The Director of Warehouse Services will be responsible for the 3PLs warehousing and logistical functions of the business. Driving initiatives to optimize efficiency in the warehousing and distribution functions of the company. This role would report directly to the Executive leadership of the company and would have full control and responsibility for these functions with the goal of managing to ensure complete customer satisfaction and maintain company profitability.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Lead national 3PL selecting reviews & due diligence tours.
Proficiency in warehouse/logistics software WMS review & development for business
Warehouse mapping & optimization
Own 3PL warehouse agreements
Strong knowledge of warehousing liability insurance/ contract review and approval
Define SLAs in conjunction with sales and compose client SOPs.
Meet accuracy and timeliness targets set by management.
Maintain metrics and analyze data to assess performance and implement improvements.
Strategically locate and acquire 3PL warehouses.
Setup warehouse layout and ensure efficient space utilization.
Manage warehouse equipment leases.
Maintain standards of health and safety, hygiene, and security
Receive feedback and monitor the quality of services provided.
Lead company food grade accreditations for FDA and NSF audits.
Claims management for carriers and customers
To Be Considered:
Experience managing multi-state warehouses, ideally gained working directly for a 3PL / Freight Forwarder
Experience with intermodal operations
Expertise and extensive experience in warehouse management procedures and best practices
Excellent analytical, problem solving and organizational skills.
Ability to work independently and handle multiple projects.
Knowledge of laws, regulations and food grade certification requirements
Ability to work with little supervision and track multiple processes.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Proven ability to implement process improvement initiatives.
Strong decision making and problem-solving skills.
Attention to detail.
Ability to travel 20%.
Strong knowledge of Main USA ports/IPI Markets
