The goals of this position are to manage and resolve critical electrical system issues that meet company guidelines for safety and compliance. The position requires the ability to manage complex and time sensitive projects in a fast-paced environment and communicate effectively with the engineering and operations teams.Essential Functions:Provide engineering support to optimize electrical equipment safety and reliabilityIdentify, review and diagnose problems impacting electrical system reliability and performance by analyzing data and performance, troubleshooting, and equipment inspectionsManage substation and collection short term and long term maintenance programsManages substation relays including programming, backup files, remote support and operational analysisSupport operating facilities with electrical troubleshooting, including review of digital fault records, relays, and other operational data for electrical tripping events and mis-operations.Assist with maintaining and improving Leeward electrical system specifications for new and operating plantsAnalyzes, summarizes and communicates findings regularly with Leeward management teamQualifications:Familiarity with HV Substation protection and control; HV Substation designed is preferredAbility to read and interpret electrical drawings, protection system, wiring diagrams and other common specificationsAbility to work in Extra High Voltage Substations, with exposure to high electric and magnetic fieldsAbility to perform short circuit, load flow, protection system coordination, and arc flash experience is a plusFamiliarity with latest versions of the following Code/StandardsNFPA 70ENFPA 70BNESCNECOSHA (1910.300, 1910.269)PE Registration Preferred or ability to obtain within 3 years of employmentExcellent communication skills, including ability to clearly communicate ideas to non-engineersAbility to remain focused and reliable in completing tasks and meeting deadlines with minimal supervisionDemonstrated ability to be self-motivated and manage technical projects, including interaction with outside vendorsDemonstrated ability to manage priorities in a complex and dynamic environmentDemonstrated ability to operate a motor vehicle and possession of a valid driver's licenseEducational Requirements:4-Year Bachelors Engineering DegreePreferred Work Experience:4 or more years of relevant technical experience; renewable experience preferredPhysical Demands:Ability to perform physical tasks including standing, sitting, walking, kneeling, twisting, reaching, and climbing at project locations in order to inspect and repair equipment or collect informationWillingness and ability to travel at least 25%Please Note: This is an in-office role, requiring on site presence in our office a minimum of three days per week with hybrid flexibility of working remotely two days per week, subject to manager and policy approval. #LIHybridApplicants must have current authorization to work for any employer in the United States on a full-time basis without the need for an employment visa now or in the future.
