TELUS Health is looking for a part-time Fitness, Recreation & Wellness Consultant to join an amazing multi-disciplinary team in Cambridge.
Under the direction of the Administrator, the Fitness, Recreation & Wellness Consultant will be responsible for teaching a variety of group exercise classes (onsite and virtually), creating individualized personal fitness programs for members, conducting presentations, monitoring the facility usage, organizing recreational leagues/tournaments, planning family events, providing customer service at the front desk, and creating, promoting and implementing health, recreation & wellness programs and services to all members.
**Heres how**
Assisting in the supervision of a 30,000 sq. ft. corporate fitness, recreation and wellness facility
Providing exceptional customer service (at front desk & throughout fitness/recreation facility
Assisting in the coordination of health promotion events and wellness programming (challenges, events, presentations)
Instructing fitness classes and monitoring participation
Creating, teaching and assisting with the development of virtual fitness and wellness programs
Monitoring gym use to provide guidance and ensure safety of gym members
Administration duties (membership renewal, event registration, rentals, statistics, quality assurance etc.)
Closing the facility Tuesday and Thursday
Assisting in equipment maintenance management
Marketing fitness, recreation and wellness events
Assisting with the planning, and implementation of special events (tournaments, leagues, family events, health fairs, health promotions etc.)
Reporting of monthly and/or quarterly usage stats
Facilitate the completion of GAQ screening forms and waivers for new members and annually
Ensure COVID19 public health measures/cleaning protocols are followed in the gym e.g. wearing of masks, hand sanitizing, wiping equipment, restrict numbers using the gym at one time
**Qualifications**
**You're the missing piece of the puzzle**
Degree or diploma in Kinesiology, Fitness or Health promotion
Current certifications in personal training and CPR/First Aid/AED
Fitness instructor certification is preferred
Energetic, confident, reliable, positive, engaging with a passion for fitness and health
Works well as part of a team
High degree of self-motivation and initiative
Strong organization and time management skills
Excellent customer service and communication skills (both written and verbal)
Strong computer skills
Experience in the corporate fitness & wellness field an asset
