Information Technology Security Analyst

An IT security analyst is responsible for protecting an organization's computer systems and networks. They plan and implement security measures to protect the system against cyber-attacks, hacking attacks, viruses and other potential threats.
Key duties include:
Developing and implementing security policies, protocols and procedures.
Configuring and maintaining security infrastructure.
Running network vulnerability scans and conducting regular network audits for potential security risks.
Investigating and responding to security alerts or incidents, and making recommendations for corrective actions.
Utilizing network technologies including on prem and cloud routing/switching (Cisco Meraki or Fortinet)
Installing and updating software to manage the security of information systems and networks.
Conducting penetration testing to identify vulnerabilities in the system.
Collaborating with staff and management to ensure that security is factored into the evaluation, selection, installation and configuration of hardware, applications and software.
Providing technical advice on a variety of security-related issues such as encryption, secure coding practices, threat modeling, identity and access management.
Creating end-user security awareness training and materials.
