**Responsibilities**
** General Function**

The **Senior Director, Merchandise Planning** is responsible for leading a team of DTC merchandise planning members across the 12 Wolverine Worldwide brands. The Director will also collaborate across functional eCommerce leaders on the development of product strategies and leading the creation of the financial strategy including sales, margin, and inventory by brand. The Director ensures that hindsight, assortment framework and financial strategies are built in a way that drive strong business by gathering and assessing data of the market and driven by direction of the Brands. The Director is responsible pre-season strategies through to market investment, in-season OTB management, and pricing.
**Primary Duties**
* Direct and oversight of the merchandising plans developed by the Merch Planners - based on brand direction, inclusive of sales, margin, and inventory for each brands eCommerce business.
* Liaise, communicate, and partner with Brands on division merchandising, financial and product strategies to develop into detailed merchandise plans.
* Partner on the development of Long-Range Planning strategy and financials across the Wolverine Worldwide eCommerce portfolio in collaboration with Brand Merchanting and Ecommerce commercial teams.
* Oversee alignment and reconciliation of business unit plans (sales, inventory, pricing, product) to division strategies and financials.
* Enhance and create the assortment framework process across the brands inclusive of style/sku targets, good/better/best framework, and season planning.
* Proactively guide teams in-season financial management, including Open to Buy forecasting, pricing decisions, and demand driven buying decisions to deliver financial goals.
* Oversee comprehensive inventory planning and forecasting to align to brand and company goals and KPIs.
* Lead team in implementation and recommendations of new planning system.
* Partner with eCommerce and brand marketing on key investments aligned to big ideas, campaigns, and marketing.
* Responsible for delivering a flexible and responsive approach to inventory management inclusive of Test and Respond, Rapid Response and Open to buy.
* Drive profitability through leading and executing promotional and markdown strategies which align with divisional and brand financial goals.
* Accountable for career development, skill development, and leadership competency of teams to ensure job satisfaction, retention and future talent development.
* Performs duties consistent with the Companys AAP/EEO goals and policies.
* Performs other duties as required/assigned by manager.
**Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required**
* 10+ years of planning and inventory management experience.
* Proven leadership skills with at least 8 years experience in leading and developing a team.
* Exceptional writing, communication and presentation skills to drive effective collaboration and influencing within a matrix organization, including executive level and multi-cultural.
* Excellent analytical skills with ability to interpret business and financial indicators and translate data into actionable proposals.
* Strong ability to multi-task and prioritize complex demands of time and resources.
* Comfortable in changing, fast paced environment with tight deadlines.
* Retail Planning System expertise (JDA, SAP Retail, SAC)
**WORKING CONDITIONS**
Normal office environment. Some travel may be required. Location is also open to in Rockford, Michigan.
