Contract - Nurse / Occupational Health Nurse
On Site Job - 800 W Montgomery Ave, Philadelphia, PA 19122
Responsibilities
Administers Department of Transportation drug and alcohol policy including but not limited to:
Collecting random and post-accident samples and following chain-of-custody procedures
Preparation of collection site
Following notification procedures and completing required documentation.
USDOT Collector Training & Certification
Assists physician in appropriate portions of pre-placement and post-employment medical examinations including but limited to:
Completing medical history and other required forms
Collecting drug and alcohol testing samples
Documenting results of all testing
Performing various diagnostic procedures such as blood pressure, EKG, vision, hearing, etc.
Renders emergency first aid treatment and follow-up care for minor employee injuries/illnesses and referring all potential work-related issues to Risk Management and occupational health centers; completes related required documentationneeded for files and safety and health record keeping purposes.
Conduct a variety of health assessments
Communicate with Human Resources, Safety, Risk Management and others involved with case management and workplace injuries.
Communicate with HR, departments and employee on leave of absences including FMLA, STD, LTD and Worker’s Compensation and assist in facilitation of an employee’s return to work
Make recommendations about work restrictions or their removal and follows-up and monitors employees return to work progress.
Maintains readiness, sanitary conditions’ operating conditions of facility and equipment and ensures the optimum level of supplies.
Recommends additional/replacement equipment and furnishes other input for budgeting process.
Maintain accurate, detailed reports and employee medical records.
Conducts training and awareness sessions dealing with health, wellness and nutrition.
Administers annual flu shots to employees.
Performs other special projects and assignments as requested.
Qualifications
Must be a Pennsylvania Registered Nurse (RN)
Bachelors of Science in Nursing / BSN preferred
Certified to perform DOT Urine Drug & Alcohol Screens strongly preferred - US DOT Collector Training & CertificationExperience in Occupational Nursing
Experience in a highly regulated industrial environment preferred
Experienced in the use various medical equipment including but not limited to EKG, breath analyzer, blood pressure, vision and hearing diagnostic machines
General knowledge of Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) regulations as they relate to workplace injuries, administering first aid and depensing medication.
The position is located in a typical office environment.
