As a VP of Operations, you will partner with application developers, product owners, designers, engineers, and delivery professionals to modernize and standardize our mainframe system software as well as our managed file transfer (MFT) platform. You’ll be expected to provide guidance on technical strategy, design the overall technology architecture, mentor, and coach the technical team as you implement capabilities to solve sophisticated managed file transfer problems, deploy innovative products, services. In addition to deep technical expertise and experience, you must bring excellent problem solving, communication and teamwork skills, along with agile ways of working, strong business insight, an inclusive leadership attitude and a continuous learning focus to all that you do. The ideal candidate would be a strategic thinker with a deep understanding of mainframe systems and MFT protocols with a proven track record of successfully modernizing and strengthening legacy mainframe systems. Work Modes- (Hybrid): We are made up of high performing teams that meet in person to learn and collaborate as needed. This role is considered hybrid, which means you’ll be assigned to a Broadridge office and given the flexibility to work remote. Responsibilities: Strategic Planning: Develop and execute a comprehensive strategy for modernizing and standardizing mainframe system software, including source code version control, transmission methodologies, and process automation. Identify upcoming technology needs based on planned GCIS functionality/activities Prioritize upcoming technology needs based on mandatory vs desired and interdependencies/external factors Stay up to date on current technologies deployed by GCIS and or application developers Plan, track, and deliver MFT-related services employed to benefit Broadridge Provide recommendations for MFT system/technology upgrades and include respective budget amendments and schedule estimates
Leadership and Team Management: Build and mentor a high-performing team of engineers, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement. Technology Evaluation and Implementation: Identify emerging technologies and best practices for mainframe modernization, and oversee their implementation to enhance system performance, reliability, and scalability. Research technologies and features based on business use cases Collaborate with technology leadership to propose feasible initiatives
Process Optimization: Analyze existing manual processes and workflows, and implement standardized procedures to improve efficiency, reduce errors, and streamline operations. Vendor Management: Collaborate with vendors and third-party partners to evaluate, select, and integrate tools and solutions that align with our modernization objectives. Participate in vendor proposals and contract negotiations
Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with other departments, including IT, operations, and business development, to ensure alignment of mainframe modernization initiatives with overall business goals and objectives. Risk Management and Compliance: Ensure that all modernization efforts adhere to industry standards, regulatory requirements, and security protocols, minimizing risk and maintaining system integrity. Ensure compliance with software/subscription licenses Ensure back-ups and proper archiving occurs regularly to mitigate loss of data Maintain compliance with IT security policies
Performance Monitoring and Reporting: Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics to track the progress of modernization initiatives and provide regular updates and reports to senior leadership. Qualifications: Proven experience in a leadership role overseeing the modernization of mainframe system software. Deep understanding of mainframe technologies, including source code version control, transmission methodologies, production support, and legacy system integration. Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate cross-functional teams. Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities, with the capacity to effectively communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders. Strategic thinker with a results-driven mindset, capable of developing and executing long-term plans to achieve business objectives. Compensation Range: The salary range for this position is between $245,000-$265,000. Broadridge considers various factors when evaluating a candidate's final salary including, but not limited to, relevant experience, skills, and education.
