WHAT WE NEED

Our Interior Design studio is seeking an experienced Sr. Project Designer to join our team. This role will be on-site and is expected to work in one of our offices. Location options are Austin, TX, Nashville, TN, or Phoenix, AZ.

We are looking for a Sr. Project Designer to develop design solutions for a variety of Life Science and Technology projects and coordinate those design solutions through all project phases. We need a Sr. Project Designer who gets excited about creating healthy, uplifting environments and who takes pride in design solutions that are specifically tailored to each client. We want someone who is always seeking to learn more and apply what they've learned to make those around them better.

WHAT YOU'LL DO....

Depending on the day, your responsibilities will include:

Manages and leads multiple projects across the Life Science and Technology market sectors that vary in size, complexity, and design phases.

Works collaboratively across teams to develop creative design solutions that meet the client's criteria.

Ensures the standardization of design intent, processes, and other needs across the office.

Collaborates collectively and manage communication between the project team, client contractors, and consultants.

Demonstrates strong attention to detail in the development of design solutions.

Serves as a resource to Interior Designers and Project Managers as designs are developed.

Leads the development of 2D and 3D graphics, presentations, and other collateral to convey design ideas to clients and project teams.

Oversees in construction observation, helping keep the built product aligned with design intent.

Facilitates the development of strong client relationships.

Provides mentorship to staff within the interior design studio.

Works with clients to catalog equipment and chemical quantities for use in room data sheets and code analysis.

Collaborates with the design technology team to develop project standards.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS... Bachelor's degree in Interior Design or Architecture from an accredited program.

10+ years of relevant Interior Design experience and Interiors projects.

8+ years in Life Science and Technology interior design.

Extensive experience leading and designing Life Science and Technology projects including pharmaceutical labs, chemical testing labs, research and development labs, and electrical testing labs...etc.

Knowledge of architectural/interior finishes, lighting, color, and materials to carry out design intent.

Proficiency in Revit.

Advanced knowledge of building codes and local permitting experience.

Strong communication and presentation skills. Ability to explain complex design concepts in simple and meaningful ways.

Ability to take initiative and move forward on assigned tasks confidently while working independently and competently.

Excellent problem solver and independent thinker with good listening skills and strong follow-through.

Negotiate roadblocks and obstacles to complete tasks on schedule and within budgeted hours.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS... Registered Architect or Interior Designer.

Working knowledge of Enscape.

Working knowledge of parametric modeling (Grasshopper, Dynamo).
