Network Engineer

We are seeking a Network Engineer for a HYBRID opening supporting sites in either Dulles, VA or Arlington, VA sites.
Responsibilities:
Establish datacenter centric systems architecture and design based on where MWAA is current state and convince implementation team to execute.
Establish architect and design for system pertaining server, storage, fiber channel, power, cooling, rack, space, and cloud workload migration.
Expertise on transformation of airport security systems with HA/DR and failover capacities.
Expert level implementation knowledge on all layers of OSI7 stacks.
Documenting, collaboration, and presentation skillsets to IT and business leaderships to persuade and convince on design approach based on tradeoffs (architecture and cost).
Have hands on implementation skillsets and intrinsic security knowledge associated with systems and datacenters.
In collaboration with IT and business stakeholders, establish TRC, TAC, CIRC and Board documents, and socialize and gain approvals.
Work under the direction of CIO and DVP CTO.
Qualifications:
Ten years of progressively responsible experience with network design, infrastructure architecture, analyses, and deployments.
In-depth knowledge of Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) systems, including Cisco Unified Communications, Microsoft Teams Calling, or other VoIP platforms.
Experience with SIP (Session Initiation Protocol) and H.323.
Proficiency in configuring and troubleshooting VoIP devices, such as IP phones, gateways, and Session Border Controllers (SBCs).
Strong understanding of network protocols, including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, and QoS.
Expertise in LAN, WAN, and wireless networking.
Knowledge of routing and switching technologies, including Cisco routers and switches.
Familiarity with the latest Wi-Fi standards and technologies, such as Wi-Fi 6.
Experience in designing and implementing modern Wi-Fi infrastructures for high performance and reliability and Knowledge of Wi-Fi security best practices.
Relevant work experience in network architecture, preferably in a role involving VoIP systems and Wi-Fi modernization.
A strong understanding of network protocols, TCP/IP, routing, and switching is fundamental for network security.
Strong knowledge to identify and mitigate security vulnerabilities effectively.
Proficiency in configuring and managing firewalls and intrusion detection/prevention systems (IDS/IPS) to protect network assets. VPN Technologies: Familiarity with virtual private network (VPN) technologies for secure remote access. Access Control: Expertise in access control mechanisms, including role-based access control (RBAC) and network segmentation.
Knowledge of SIEM tools for monitoring and analyzing network security events. Encryption: Understanding of encryption protocols and technologies, including SSL/TLS, IPsec, and VPN encryption.
Proficiency in ethical hacking and penetration testing techniques to identify and remediate vulnerabilities.
Staying updated with the latest cybersecurity threats and threat intelligence sources.
Skills in network monitoring and traffic analysis to identify anomalies and potential security breaches.
Understanding of incident response procedures and the ability to handle security incidents effectively.
