About the Role
The Company is seeking a Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) to join its Information Technology leadership team. The CISO will be the primary advocate for the institution's information and cyber security needs, responsible for developing and overseeing a comprehensive information security strategy. This strategy is designed to protect the company's information and information systems from unauthorized access, use, and disclosure, and ensure confidentiality, integrity, and availability. The role involves leading the development and implementation of an information and cyber security program, advising senior leadership on security matters, and ensuring that security is integrated throughout the technology life cycle. The CISO will also manage a team of security staff, lead outreach and education efforts to promote security awareness and maintain compliance with relevant regulations.Applicants for the CISO position at the company must have a Bachelor's degree in a relevant IT field, a minimum of 15 years of IT experience, and at least 10 years in a managerial role. Professional experience in designing, implementing, and managing information security policies and solutions is essential. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in computer security issues, risk management, and compliance. They should possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills, the ability to work with diverse constituencies, and experience in providing security education and training. Industry certifications in cybersecurity are preferred, as is a post-baccalaureate degree. The CISO will be expected to stay current with security trends and be actively involved in the security community.
