Summary
The Brooklyn Navy Yard Development Corporation (BNYDC) is a not-for-profit corporation that serves as the real estate developer and property manager of the Yard on behalf of its owner, the City of New York. BNYDC strives to provide an environment in which innovative companies can take root and grow.
The Director of Marketing will serve as the brand and marketing leader, working across all departments and with external stakeholders to create and execute integrated marketing and communications campaigns. They are responsible for raising the visibility of the Brooklyn Navy Yard as a national model for urban manufacturing, innovative tech and office uses, and increasing public support, interest, and funding for the mission of the Yard. They will also act as a people leader, managing our social media coordinator.
Areas of Responsibility
Improve the Yard’s brand and ensure that its principles and standards are consistently met across all business and communications platforms
Guide the development, streamlining and establishment of tools for production of content and marketing materials
Update and enforce branding guidelines; Roll-out and monitor adoption of brand changes throughout the organization
Manage Social Media Coordinator; review and approve all social media content
Work with a team of external consultants and vendors needed to execute multiple creative assignments on behalf of BNYDC
Develop actionable and impactful campaigns to support leasing and other real estate needs, support the core business functions of The Yard, and promote tenant businesses
Create new, and build-on existing, robust content marketing strategies across multiple channels and mediums, including video, social media, infographics, and key BNYDC events
Assist internal BNYDC teams with all marketing needs
Perform other duties and ad-hoc projects as assigned

Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Google Analytics, Vimeo, Mailchimp, Linktree, Survey Monkey, Sprout, Eventbrite Ad Platform, and Adobe InDesign/Photoshop
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree from accredited college or university in a related field is required, a master’s degree is a plus
6+ years of experience in marketing for real estate, architecture, design, government, community/public programming or related fields
Prior management experience of full-time employees or interns
Ability to attend events after hours and/or evenings as needed
