As a Cloud FinOps Engineer, you will support a high-energy, high growth company. Reporting into the Infrastructure Engineering organization, you will help continue the team on its path toward becoming a world-class organization through data automation and insightful analysis. You will support projects related to analysis and tracking of cloud-based infrastructure costs (e.g. GCP, AWS, Azure), including automating gathering of cost and usage-related data and configuring alerting.

This role will work closely with Engineering and Cloud FinOps team leaders across the company, and alongside the FP&A team to aid in effective data-driven analysis and decision-making. Along with performing additional ad-hoc projects for various company initiatives, the Cloud FinOps Engineer will drive constant process improvement.

You will:

Establish a deep understanding of how LiveRamp uses our cloud infrastructure and how that translates into cloud spend. Understand the various ways in which we can reduce cost across different cloud environments

Work with Engineering and Cloud FinOps teams to analyze cloud spend and identify areas of opportunity to improve results

Help drive cloud hosting cost savings initiatives across the Organization - from ideation to execution, to monitoring and reporting of results

Assist Engineering and FP&A team on financial forecast model updates and trend analyses for our cloud infrastructure and hosting-related expenses

Work with Engineering teams to help investigate and resolve anomalies in usage and spend in a timely manner

Help FP&A team to create activity-based models to forecast cloud cost and the implication on product and customer profitability

Develop and maintain the processes and infrastructure for tracking cloud hosting spend across different teams within the Organization

Your team will:

Support an entire engineering organization based in California, New York, Paris, London and Nantong, China

Lead and collaborate with Engineering and Finance leads to deliver a reliable and cost-efficient platform on GCP and AWS

Help drive the Cloud FinOps program

Lead and own the creation of cloud-focused best practices, building blocks, and patterns to ensure deployed solutions are scalable, immutable, resilient, and cost-efficient

Function as stewards for shared data, services, tools, processes and libraries

About you:

Self-starter with a natural sense of curiosity

Possess strong coding skills

Bachelor or Master of Science in Computer Science, Information Systems or related degree.

1-2 years of related work experience

General knowledge of Cloud Environments (GCP, AWS, Azure) and how they charge for their services

Familiarity with Cloud FinOps cost optimization strategies

Superior quantitative and analytical abilities

Demonstrated excellence translating datasets into actionable results

Willing to dive in and learning by doing

Ready to work with others to solve hard problems

Demonstrated communication skills with Engineering and Finance leaders

Preferred Skills:

Prior experience supporting production environments on one or more of the major cloud vendors (GCP, AWS, Azure).

The approximate annual base compensation range is $95,0000 - $160,000.
